BBQ at Yaki Yaki Japanese BBQ Buffet Restaurant

2 min read

I heard about this place from a friend who was telling me about their 50% opening promo ending end of April.

Located at Federal Bowl behind Federal Hotel and beside Low Yat Plaza, locating this place could be never been easier.

We reached earlier to book and it was already packed. We booked our table and got ours around an hour later.

y2The lovely people there gave us a “tatami” room. It was fantastic because we knew we were the type that made a lot of noises. Having our own room was a brilliant idea.

One thing about buffet, I couldn’t really say how much foods were there. Another reason also that I wouldn’t want to compare it with other buffet restaurants. They had a sushi bar, mixed meat area for BBQ, fried food area and a few more. Not the most food for a buffet restaurant but adequate.

The best part was ordering the foods for BBQ. Remember to order Unagi here and other BBQ thin sliced meats. Wonder why?

The fun part about this place is BBQ. Imagine bunch of friends BBQ together at a Japanese Buffet Restaurant, priceless!

The Sashimi there recommendable, it was pretty fresh. We took the whole plate.

Me and Rachel… 😛

y8The room after we left. Check out the table, it was packed! Check out the coconuts…

y9The gang!

The ongoing promo (until end of April 2009) is damn worth it. Inclusive tax, its less than RM 50 per pax.

The service was good and I loved the BBQ buffet concept. The food there was generally good. I enjoyed their coconuts as well as the fresh thin sliced meat.

Recommendable to go for the promo.

  1. I went there with my 7 other classmates last week and we didn’t like the place. The place is easy to be found and the food is nice but they never replenish it. And there is only a few variety of choices compared to other Japanese buffet restaurant. Imagine reaching there to find a few plates at the bar empty and yet they still haven’t replenish it ONE HOUR later. I had to complain a few times and yet still empty and I gave up. All 8 of us agreed that we WILL NOT go there anymore.

  2. I went there 2 weeks ago.

The reason I compliment the BBQ dishes as those thin sliced meats are normally more expensive than the usual dishes.

The only thing that upset me was the coconuts which they took some time to re-serve.

I guess when the business is good, the consumers gonna suffer?

  3. ahah, same prob at Tenji..aiya…promo food like tat lohh..
myself coulndt even get a reservation!full for the whole promo period. urgh. watever.

  4. hi there.. i see u went to their private room.. i'd tried to call their line few times but couldnt get through.. may i know how many pax can they fit in their private room?
can they fit mroe than 15 pax?

    thanks a lot =)

  5. The Tatami room or private room is ideally for 8 persons only. For 15, maybe u need 2 rooms. 🙂

  6. i had dined in yaki-yaki today. it was the worst customer service i’ve ever had by the current supervisor – Queen. showed her disrespectful to customers very well. lunch time should be 11am-2.30pm. but at 2.10pm she started to collect plates that still serving food on my table without asking my permission. when i was complaining to her, SHE DIDN’T EVEN CARE and ran away. at the end, i “forced” to get out of the restaurant and by the time it was only 2.15pm. in conclusion, it was the worst experience for me in F&B industry in malaysia. it wasn’t worth for us to spend money (service tax) to get this kind of bad customer service. customers should be very happy during and after enjoying their meal. thanks for attention to all consumer. spend your money intelligently by choosing the right restaurant with right customer service. we have consumer rights.

  7. you guys took the entire plate of sashimi? tsk tsk tsk how inconsiderate and rude. just shows how one’s bad civic mindedness is shown during instances like this. how typical.

    1. The small plate of sashimi was for all of us not just me alone. It was delivered to us, we didn’t take it from the counter. We ordered it by the way just that I didn’t state it. I am rude in other ways, but not this. Thank you.
