White Water Rafting @ Telaga Waja River, Bali

10 April 2009 4 Comments

I was advised to go for the white water rafting in Bali before the trip.

I thought it would be the same as the my Slim River white water rafting. I was so wrong!

White water rafting at Telaga Waja River was so damn fun!

Going there was a journey. The tour van pick us up at 7 am in the morning. It took us around 3-4 hours (driving) from Nusa Dua to the meeting point of Telaga Waja River.

We were briefed shortly before we went down to the river.

From there, we were given another round of safety briefing. The people there were quite professionals.

One of them was briefing in Japanese to the Japanese group beside us. Salute!

The fun part for this time around maybe its because there were more groups. At least more than 20 rafting boats were there. The river was not as shallow as Slim River and there were quite a number of obstacles like the low bamboo bridges and lots of turnings. It was damn fun!

At one of the resting areas, we were stopped for this lovely scenery of waterfall. It was breathtaking.

After the short break, we decided to chase the front groups who were left earlier.

There was no flip overs (unlike Slim River) in this river. There was a 4m deep plunge at the end of the check point. That was really so cool.

The view here was breathtaking. Lots of terrain padi fields and natural waterfalls. With so many tourists each day, the river was still very clean and not much of pollutions.

We really enjoyed it to the max this time around. Our guide was good and we really had fun chasing around with other boats.

We were served with lovely Balinese lunch at the end of the day. The whole white water rafting took around 3 hours.

A person cost around 250,000 RP. Information can be obtained almost everywhere in Bali. Price is always negotiable in Bali. Try to talk to them properly for a sweet deal. They were really nice people.

Hi, I was wondering if you could provide the contacts for the white water rafting shop that you went with. I’ve seen numerous agents, and they are charging a lot more expensive than what you’ve quoted, i.e. US50-60. Would appreciate your reply soon, as i will be in Bali on the 8-15 September 2010.

    Thanks.
