ORIS RAID: Kuala Lumpur – Bangkok 2010 Preview: A Classic Car Race of MALAYSIA

Persatuan Pemotoran Malaysia ( PPM ) let the “cat out of the bag” finally, barely after two weeks of the event unveiling at the newly renovated ORIS boutique in Lot 10, today saw the event meeting up with potential participants and setting out the route and competition details at il-Lido Italian restaurant and lounge bar @ Jalan Yap Kwan Seng.

The Competition classified vehicles into THREE categories, namely VINTAGE for vehicles up to 1949 while CLASSIC is between 1950 ~ 1985, vehicles born 1986 and above are known as Special Interest.

A pair of ORIS Artelier Complication worth over RM11, 000 awaits the Overall 1st and a pair of ORIS TT3 Day Date worth more than RM 9, 000 for the Overall 2nd. 3rd Overall winner walks home with a pair of ORIS Williams Day Date worth over RM 7, 000.

In total, over RM27, 000 worth of ORIS Swiss made watches were showcase at the launch. The event will promise exhilarating drives throughout the 5 days of competition, scenic routes, amazing hunts, nice stopover hotels and chic welcome parties at all overnight stopovers.

Participants and their vehicles will be tested on both man and machine tolerance, the event is NOT a high speed event but rather of a nature of combining navigational & driving skill, amazing & teasing hunts and completion of exciting task along the route.

Each participating team starts with a SCORE deriving from adding the age of the vehicle to the age of the driver and a nominated passenger’s age. The SCORE will be subject to penalties impose throughout the competition period, missing check points, wrong answers to questions, failure to perform certain task or incurring driving offences.
