Like many first time travelers, I was wondering where to stay in Krabi. It is better to stay in Krabi town or the Aonang area? The distance between both places takes around half an hour ride and both has its own advantages and disadvantages.
We prefer to stay in Aonang area due to its close proximity with the sea. Okay, we admit. We loved the beach and the sunset in Aonang. Although the streets of Aonang might be always busy and probably noisy to some but we enjoyed the convenience and the endless shopping.
We did not expect much from Beach Terrace Hotel since it was a budget trip. As the van dropped us to our hotel, we were glad because it is located right at the smack of the busy street of Aonang.
There were a few types of rooms available at the hotel. Beach side rooms and tower rooms, we had the beach side rooms.
There is a small swimming pool but we didn’t bother to go there as the beach is just next to the hotel. We loved how they decorated the corridor to our rooms.
It was like a small garden with plants and stone carvings of Thai culture.
Our room was pretty “classic”, it was not the modern type of room we usually stays. The room was big (considering the price we paid for it) but slightly old.
The bathroom was another classic design with apple green tiles and it comes with hairdryer also.
Hence, the bathroom was clean and there were signs of refurbishments. The bathroom is equipped with water heater next to bathtub.
There was also a massage chair in the room. However we prefer the authentic Thai massage and they were dozens of them in the streets of Aonang.
We stayed two nights at Beach Terrace Hotel, we enjoyed it. Not the posh-like hotel but a decent for a good sleep.
Breakfast at their coffee shop offers the beautiful view of Aonang beach. We had “American breakfast” with breezing winds from the beach. There were lots of tourists jogging and also a number of boats parked along the beach. ‘
During nighttime, the streets of Aonang were brightened up by the restaurants, pubs and shops. We took hours walking around Aonang after our daily day trips.
Our stay at Beach Terrace Hotel Krabi was a joyful one. We enjoyed the convenience, their affordable room rates as well as their good services. We will be going to Krabi again next month and will be reviewing another resort.
