Bar-B-Q Plaza at Berjaya Times Square

Regardless how many food and beverages outlets in Berjaya Times Square, we often find it hard to find our favourite food. We tried a few restaurants in BTS (Berjaya Times Square) and it was disappointing. Hence, we didn’t bother putting up on our blog.

Last week, after a meeting with a friend in BTS, we decided to try Bar-B-Q Plaza again and it is located at the 3rd floor of Berjaya Times Square (opposite the GSC food counter and Old Town White Coffee).  We tried it many years ago in their first outlet in One Utama New Wing.

They often played their Thai TV Commercial in front of their restaurant to attract customers. Weirdly we never bumped to one of their restaurants in Thailand after traveling there for so many times. We consider ourselves unlucky.

We know we seldom reviewed food chain restaurants and weird enough this is not a sponsored or a paid review. We just wanted to have some barbeque!

Supreme Mixed Set with beef sirloin, pork, bacon, chicken, squid, udon noodle, sliced cabbage, baby corn, carrot, lettuce and tomato…
We ordered the Supreme Mixed Set for RM 33.90 (US$ 11.30). The set came with beef sirloin, pork, bacon, chicken, squid, udon noodle, sliced cabbage, baby corn, carrot, lettuce and tomato.

Sweet sauce, chili, lime and chopped garlic…
The grill is like a half oval shape brass heated by gas at the bottom.

Pork lard on top of the grill…
As you may notice, this is a NON-Halal restaurant and the best way to grill the food is to put the pork lard on top of the grill. Let the pork lard melt and rub it around the grill to make it greasy and non-stick.

At the bottom of the grill, there is a small column with broth that you can boil your vegetables.

Beef sizzling on top of the grill…
On how you want it to cook, it depends on you. Cooking DIY (Do-it-Yourself) is always fun and enjoyable especially BBQ.

Grilled Pork Cutlets…
We also ordered a side dish the pork cutlet. It was tender, well seasoning and addictive.

It was a quiet evening with just both of us having dinner at Bar-B-Q Plaza and trying out our new camera, the Samsung NX-11. The food was fresh and we have no complains on their services too. We will go there again when we have the BBQ crave again.

    Hi,

Yeah, apparently it is from Thailand. I have not been to 1U for a while, should check it out when I’m there.

When are we food hunting together again?

Looks good, how’s the ventilation? I like bulgogi places but I’ll go for Thai BBQ too. :D
