LEGOLAND® MALAYSIA ANNOUNCES OPENING DATE

Yesterday, I flew to Legoland Malaysia in Johor for the big announcement. After months of speculating, Legoland Malaysia announces the opening date: Saturday, September 15, 2012. The new Legoland office was packed with local and Singaporean media reps and it was great to be there again.

Inspired by Asia’s growing love affair with all things LEGO®, the new 76-acre theme park will cater to kids ages 2 to 12 with more rides – from roller coasters to race cars as well as family focused interactive shows and attractions.

Mr. Boerst announcing the Official Grand Opening…

Siegfried Boerst General Manager of LEGOLAND Malaysia disclosed the date at a briefing and site tour held today in Nusajaya. “Our official opening date has been a closely guarded secret since the park broke ground in December 2009. We hope with today’s news families and tour operators can begin planning their trips to visit us and we look forward to giving you an experience like no other in Asia.”

The Park is now 75% complete with many of the rides and park infrastructure complete.

Next month our contractors will begin the work on the theming of the Park and the installing of millions of LEGO bricks and the attractions.”
