Dapur Penyet at Bandar Baru Ampang

It is one of those days that I go to Ampang for a business meeting and in one of those lunches I found a nice restaurant that is worth to blog about.

At Bandar Baru Ampang, there is one place for good “ayam bakar” (BBQ Chicken). It is called the Dapur Penyet. It is not one of those fancy restaurants with high pricing but instead a comfortable fast food concept restaurant with affordable prices.

The 3 layer tea is a very popular drink in Dapur Penyet. It comes with generous amount of gula Melaka and even though it was sweet but this was addictive.

We didn’t order much as it was only me and my client so I ordered the Ayam Bakar for RM 8.90. You can have a choice for chicken breast or chicken thigh so you can make your order. To be frank the ayam bakar is a beauty. It comes with a set of vegetables, fried “taufu” (beancurd) and tempeh (fried soy). The chicken is grilled to perfection with sweet sauce and this was yummy.

Next we order a side order of Fried Ayam Penyet for two pairs of chicken wings for RM 5.90. The set comes with also vegetable, fried taufu and tempeh.  Unlike other fried ayam penyet did I have, their crunchy version comes with generous amount of fried bits.

Nothing glorious about this lunch but simple lunch with good value food so if you are near Bandar Baru Ampang, you all should check out this place.
