In one of my sponsored media trips to Thailand, I met this young freelance Chinese writer and photographer. After the trip, we kept in touch and he told me that he was going to open some guest house, bed and breakfast style rooms in Melaka. In fact, he invited most of the media friends we met during our trip to its opening. I couldn’t make it as I was busy but some of them went and gave rave reviews. The place is called Sayang Sayang Melaka. After a few years, the business expanded and they decided to open their first budget boutique hotel. This time around, I couldn’t reject his request to help him to review his new venture. I always admire the spirit and courage of peers building their own brand name and more over starting their own business. It takes more than just money to build but heart to sustain and to grow.
The D’ Hotel or (The Hotel) is a venture between a group of friends in Melaka. Located at the famous road of Jalan Ong Kim Wee, most popular known for the Ban Lee Siang Satay Celup restaurant, the hotel offers 26 rooms for its quests. With their theme for “designed”, each room has a different design to add the uniqueness of this hotel.
The D’ Hotel is scheduled to open on the 18th September 2012 and we were the first few guests who got the stay and preview of the hotel before its opening. Each and every single room differs in size, design as well as pricing. However we were told that they will be offering the introductory promotion rates of RM 88 per room.
So what is in D’ Hotel? They have a living room on the ground floor with coffee machine, water dispenser machine as well comfortable reading area with sofa and also FREE Internet computer services.

All the rooms come with water heater standing shower and the basic amenities. Rooms are clean and comfortable and you can choose your preferable design room to stay.

Since it is located at Jalan Ong Kim Wee, you can walk to Jonker Walk within 10 minutes and you can also escape the unnecessary traffic.
