Soju Room Penang Times Square

I have not been to any clubbing scenes lately but I must admit that I was impressed with Soju Room at Penang Times Square. While the club scenes in Kuala Lumpur focussed on DJs, Soju Room has a mixture of DJs and Live Bands. I remembered such experience while clubbing until morning at Dragon Fly in St. James Power Station in Singapore a couple of years ago.

I was in Penang on a food assignment with Hennessy X.O. and thanks to lovely people of Moet Hennessy Diageo (MHD), we went partying at Soju Room after our dinner at China House (another recommended dinning place). Located in Penang Times Square, this sizzling club has an impressive large colourful walkway leading to the entrance.

The design and the interior were impressive. A great deal amount of money must have been spent on the renovation and it was one of the best clubs in terms of ambience and design.

We were at the VIP area with four bottles of Hennessy V.S.O.P on our disposal, it was a sign that we will be partying and drinking hard.

The lights and music of Soju Room was impressive. Hard and loud pumping music and the LED screens dominated the scene. It has some similarities with Dragon Fly St. James Power Station in terms of concept and design.

The singers and dancers were a mixture of locals and international artists. Their list includes artists from Philippines, Australia, USA and many more. The sound system was definitely worth to mention and watch the videos below and you can judge it by yourself.

The crowd was mostly Penangites and a mixture of youngster and the 30s. The club was packed and everyone enjoyed themselves. I have not enjoyed a club like this for some time. That’s why I decided to blog about it.

After hours of drinking, dancing and partying, we downed the four bottles of Hennessy and we called it a day. Of course, none of us was driving as MHD arranged a van with a driver for us. The club closed at 3 am. I enjoyed myself at Soju Room and I admit it was awesome partying there. Thanks MHD for hosting us, the trip and everything else.
