When you are in Hobart Tasmania, you will look for fresh seafood. One of the best places to have fresh seafood is in Constitution Dock. It is also nicknamed as the “fish market” of Hobart. There are a few boat restaurants parked at the Constitution Dock as well as a few sit in restaurants.

We picked Mako Seafood by random and we had no regrets about it. There was a big sign “Dine in or Takeaway”. We dined in of course.

There were two decks, a fresh seafood market on the lower deck and restaurant on the upper deck. We went to the wrong deck and found ourselves in a seafood market.

We ordered a platter of seafood, half a dozen of fresh oysters, prawns skewer, crumb scallops and deep fried prawns. The total bill came to A$ 33.30 with GST, pretty reasonable.

As expected the oysters were juicy and fresh. Scallops were deep fried to perfection and amazingly luscious. You can really enjoy the view of the surrounding area while having the seafood.

Drop by to Constitution Dock or the “Fish Market” of Hobart if you are around there. You will be pampered with gratifying fresh seafood.

What a tasty platter of seafood! I’ve been to Tasmania once too, loved the place.

I love places like this – just pick your own fresh seafood and they’ll cook it for you. Freemantle in WA has a nice version too! :)
