Homestay in Ba Dinh Hanoi with TravelMob.com

I stayed 3 nights in Hanoi, 1 night in Hoan Kiem (the Old Quarter) and 2 nights in Ba Dinh or also known as the “French Quarter”.  This is the eastern side of Hanoi, the other direction of the western side of Hoan Kiem, the old quarter.

For my experience in Ba Dinh, it is more urban and it is more Vietnamese. Hoan Kiem is more for tourist while Ba Dinh is more for the locals.

The alleys of Ba Dinh neighbourhood.
This one bedroom apartment is located within a block which offers a quiet location in a small lane way, close to Kim Ma street, where you will find many good restaurants and cafes, and supermarkets which stock a wide selection of western food. All the apartments on the block are managed by them. The Kim Ma street is the main road so going there will not be an issue, you just need to give the taxi driver the address or let the driver talk to the host. The host is Nancy and she is one of the most friendliest hosts we met ever.

All bedrooms are newly furnished in a contemporary, western style and each room has a small balcony. All floors, except for the first two, look out over the colorful and lively district of Ba Dinh. The building has a lift, servicing all floors.

Our room, no complaints.
Well, we got our one room apartment and we loved it. It comes with a living room and a kitchen, did we pay that much for it? The apartment is very clean and as mentioned, the building is manned by a security guard at all times so it is very safe to stay there. Anyhow we don’t feel any danger in Hanoi despite being told to be aware of pickpockets

The home stay is  10 minutes to National Convention centre / Giang Vo exhibition / Old Quarter /Deawoo, Horision or Hanoi hotel, Japanese embassy and it is also very close to Australian Embassy, RMIT university, and English Language schools such as Clever Learn and Language Link as well as a variety of smaller private schools.

Kitchen in the apartment, we can cook but we preferred eating out.

Nancy, the host is a super friendly person. She helped us to arrange a taxi to the airport with the cheapest rate around. She also cooked breakfast for us on our last day. She can speak English well and very helpful. That is the beauty of booking homestay with TravelMob.com because you get connected with the host first before you book your stay. Decent and comfortable looking. The basic essentials are probably what’s sufficient when travelling low budget. I think home stays are great choices. This one is looking not bad.

    Hi Kianfai!

I will recommend you to take the dark blue colour if you are keen. I’m too messy for white.
