Lark Distillery Tasmania Single Malt Whisky
Lark Distillery Tasmania Single Malt Whisky
If you are a single malt whisky lover, you must visit this place when you are in Hobart Tasmania. Located at 14 Davey Street, Hobart , Lark Distillery was the first licensed distillery in Tasmania since 1839. It was established in 1992 to produce Australian malt whisky, rich in character with a big finish using Tasmanian ingredients.

I never visited any Australian malt whiskey companies before so it was interesting to know there is a hidden gem in Tasmania. In a proud country of wine producing, Lark Distillery is one of the Australia’s leading distilleries, producing high quality, premium spirits using traditional time honoured methods.

The Distillery runs a 1800 litre copper pot still along with a 500 litre spirit still, and produces ten to twelve 100 litre barrels per month.

Please purchase their whisky at the Lark Distillery, I regretted of not buying there as I thought it is available in the airport. Their range of distilled products includes the flagship Single Malt Whisky, Premium Vodka, Gin, and and TASI aromatica bush Liqueur.

Another reason to visit the Lark Distillery because it is the home of Australia’s Masterchef Junior 2010 Runner Up, Jack Lark. Yes, Jack is the son of the owner and also the first runner up for the series. Unluckily, Jack nor the owner was around during our ad hoc visit.
