There are quite a number of old Chinese temples in Melaka. One of the most unique Chinese temples we found is the Lee Sian Neo Neo temple as it is the temple of fertility. We were told many people came to this temple to pray for fertility. It is believed that the temple housed the Chinese fertility god (hope someone can verify this).

Hidden in Jonker Street, the temple is popular among the locals. We were brought there by our good friend after they told us that they had children after praying at Lee Sian Neo Neo temple. They even told us some of their friends celebrated success in having children too after visiting the temple. I’m not sure how it affects the local fertility centres, I’m kidding of course.

Whether it is for prayers for fertility or just a common prayer for blessing, it is no harm to visit Lee Sian Neo Neo Temple. The temple is also known as Thian Teck Keong.

Quick facts of this temple, the temple is built 1884 (summer, 10^th year of Guangxu Dynasty) and founded by late Chan Say Peng.

The temple is dedicated to the Deity Xian Xu Yah and it was a gift to Cheng Hoon Teng Temple and to the people of Melaka. The temple is located at 118, Jalan Hang Jebat (Jonker Street) and is currently managed by to Cheng Hoon Teng Temple.
