Outram Park Fried Kway Teow

Outram Park Fried Kway Teow

Last weekend, we were in Singapore thanks to the invitation from Singapore Tourism Board (STB). We were there for three days two nights with gastronomy adventure, entertainment and visiting Singapore’s latest places of interest.

While venturing for good food near my hotel on Pickering Street, we found Hong Lim Market and Food Centre. It didn’t take us long to spot the best hawker stall in the food centre as we saw a long queue on the Outram Park Fried Kway Teow stall.

We ordered a plate of Outram Park Fried Kway Teow as we saw customers carrying away packs of fried kway teow. A plate of Outram Park Fried Kway Teow is only $3 per plate.

Outram Park Fried Kway Teow Mee

A plate of the standard size of fried kway teow comes with cockles, beansprout and pork lard. The plate comes with generous amount of cockles and the sizes of it are relatively bigger than the usual ones we ate in Malaysia. Notable difference between Outram Park Fried Kway Teow and the usual Malaysia’s version of fried kway teow is the missing Chinese sausages, prawns, fish cakes and chopped spring onions. The taste is considerably good but not the best. It has hints of sweetness and it never lack of addictiveness. Most of the customers added on cockles based on their orders. Seriously, for $3 what else you expect in this plate of goodness?
