AirAsiaX  to increase capacity to Australia by 40%

More news from Down Under! You might have read the story on Air Asia X is flying to Adelaide, Malaysia Airlines to fly Kuala Lumpur Darwin in November and Malaysia Airlines to increase flights to Melbourne Airport.

It won’t stop there, AirAsia X plans to increase capacity to Australia by 40% over the 5 months from approx. 26,400 weekly seats to 37,000 seats in December 2013!

40% is not a small number and to achieve it, AirAsia X will increase Melbourne frequencies from 12 to 14 per week from 4th October 2013, Perth from daily to double daily from 24th November 2013, Sydney from 12to 14 per week from 24th November and Gold Coast from five to seven from 26th November.

The increase capacity will boost tourism both ways and next year it will VMY 2014 (Visit Malaysia Year 2014) so by having more capacity means it will draw more Australians to visit Malaysia. It could be the other way around too!
