It has been months since the last time I step foot at Jalan Pudu Ulu. For those pure gluttons, they know that there are quite a number of cheap and good restaurants in Pudu Ulu. Joining the list is the newcomer, Peel Road Char Siew Yoong.
Peel Road Char Siew Yoong used to be near the Queens Hotel but due to the massive development of the area, many restaurants and stalls were demolished and many of them shifted. They make way for the multi-mega project Sunway Velocity and two MRT stations.
The new restaurant is located at No 23, Jalan Pudu Ulu. It didn’t take any effort for them to take my attention with their huge signage. Thus as expected, the restaurant is packed.
I didn’t manage to dine but to take away. I bought a RM 20 worth of char siew (caramelized BBQ pork).
Yoong’s version of char siew is thicker in size and it outer layer is not as caramelized and sweet like most famous ones in Klang Valley. The meat is soft and tender and the taste is just right. This is definitely one of the best char siew in city.
