Sun Ming and Grilled Chinese Andouillette

I could not find a proper word for Chinese intestine sausage so probably Chinese Andouillette might works fine for it. I am a huge fan for grilled Chinese Andouillette as I learn to love it a few years ago. However, finding a good one is hard because it takes a long time to make one and they are usually available in Chinese food stalls that sells char siew (caramelized pork belly). The dried version is usually for “lap mei” rice (wax meat rice) or festive season like Chinese New Year.


There is one restaurant in Cheras that needs no introduction that sells good grilled Chinese Andouillette. It is Restoran Sun Ming at Taman Connaught, Cheras, a popular restaurant for its crispy roast duck, roast chicken, char siew and siew yuk (roast pork belly).

I ordered the grilled Chinese Andouillette with char siew and they are heavenly. Sometimes, you just have to give the calories count a miss for the sake of the craving.

Due to its popularity, the restaurant is usually packed like sardine can during lunch hour and there will be queue also so be there early to avoid the madness. Don’t be late as you might end up with leftovers.
