Samsung Malaysia starts 2015 with a bang! Today, Samsung Malaysia Launches GALAXY A3 and GALAXY A5, a brand new range series. The GALAXY A5 and GALAXY A3 exemplify the perfect union of technology and human connections – showcasing the most advanced functions optimised for a social networking experience centered around the user; packaged in a refined, premium metallic trim.
“As more young people are getting smartphones, social networks apps are booming, feeding in turn the selfie craze that has swept over the world in the past years. The GALAXY A5 and GALAXY A3 jump on the selfie bandwagon and further redefine it with their signature wide selfie feature, which complement the needs of a highly digitally connected and style conscious youth audience,” said Lee Jui Siang, Vice President, Mobile, IT and Digital Imaging, Samsung Malaysia Electronics.
In conjunction with the arrival of the GALAXY A5 and A3, Samsung Malaysia Electronics is also excited to introduce the ‘Bestnya Bersama’ campaign today. The campaign theme certainly speaks to the origins of the GALAXY A5 and A3, we aim to bring Malaysian youth together through the wide selfie feature and music platform.
Present at the launch event were the GALAXY A Series’ A Team comprising of Izzue Islam and Venice Min, and the A-list home grown talents – Najwa Latif, Shawn Lee, Ke Qing, Paperplane Pursuit, Liyana Fizi and An Honest Mistake.

The GALAXY A5 and A3 are Samsung’s slimmest smartphones to date, featuring refined full metal unibody designs that are 6.7mm and 6.9mm thin, respectively. Stylish and sleek, the GALAXY A5 and A3 are slim enough to slide into your pocket and hold comfortably in the palm. The GALAXY A5 and A3 equipped with refined full metal unibody design, allowing users to stand out from the crowd with the slim and sleek metal finish. Both devices will come in a variety of catchy hues, including Pearl White, Midnight Black, Platinum Silver, and Champagne Gold, to accommodate the personal style and preference of diverse users.

The Samsung GALAXY A5 and A3 have one of the features that avid shutterbugs will adore is the advanced 5MP front-facing camera with the innovative Wide Selfie mode. Now, users are able to capture a group picture without huddling close to one another just to nab the perfect shot. Users are also able to quickly and easily share photos or videos on their favourite social media channels with the device’s fast network speed of LTE Category 4 standard.

Taking its cue from the flagship GALAXY mobile device experience, the GALAXY A Series is equipped with an extraordinary Super AMOLED display and Adaptive Display technology to deliver clearer images with deep contrast and better viewing angles for more vivid, colourful content in virtually any environment, even under bright sunlight.
Samsung GALAXY A5 has a 16GB Internal memory, micro SD slot (up to 64GB) and a 2GB RAM whilst the Samsung GALAXY A3 has a 16GB Internal memory, micro SD slot (up to 64GB) and a 1GB RAM.
The GALAXY A5 and A3 will be available at the recommended retail price of RM1,199 and RM899 respectively from 9 January onwards at all Samsung Experience Stores and Samsung authorised dealers. On the other hand, the GALAXY A7 will make it to Malaysian shores shortly in February 2015. More information will be disclosed closer to the availability date.
I played with both phones during the event, it is light and sleek. I loved the 5mp front camera, similar to GALAXY Note 4 and I missed that in my GALAXY S5.
The pricing of both phones are very competitive and affordable especially GALAXY A3 for RM 899 only.
