Bangkok is one of the top shopping destinations in Asia for decades. There are many people who travelled to Bangkok just to shop while some will buy them back to sell. There are many boutiques in Asia purchase their stocks from Bangkok because it is good quality and price effective.
There are a quite a number of wholesale markets in Bangkok but we only listed the top six which is tourist friendly. Some wholesale market such as Bangkok Flower Market (Pak Klong Talad) is not recommended for tourists as they only offer fresh flowers. It could be a tourist destination but it is not on our top six wholesale markets in Bangkok.

1. Bobae Market
Bobae Market or the locals called it “Bobay” Market is a wholesale market in Bangkok. It is a 30 year old wholesale market which is very popular with locals, exporters and buyers from all around the world.
Bobae Market is an outdoor market and it is located on Krung Kasem Road near Yotse Bridge, Dusit area thus the nearest popular landmark is MBK Shopping Mall or National Stadium BTS Station. It is advisable to take a taxi from either MBK or National Stadium BTS stadium and it takes around 15 min depending on traffic. There are many tuk tuks in the area but remember to negotiate the price first before boarding.
The market runs along the Krungkasem Road along the river and there are many bridges with numbers so you won’t get lost.

Most of the items here are sold in dozens at a low price as their primary market is traders but you can find many shoppers here too. Near to this market is Bobae Tower Wholesale Shopping Mall.

2.Bobae Tower Wholesale Shopping Mall
Bobae Market has been around for more than 30 years and the Bobae Tower is the pioneer version of Platinum Mall. It is a shopping mall, it is air conditioned and it is the older version of Platinum Mall.
Bobae Tower houses 1300 shops over 6 storeys of shops and one level of food court while the tower is occupied by Prince Palace Hotel and it is located near Bobae Market (within walking distance).
Bobae Market strictly sells items for wholesale only from 3 items to 5 items per purchase unlike Bobae Market. The mall is similar to old Sungei Wang shopping mall or Sim Lim tower kind of design. It is fully air conditioned and they sell clothes and apparels from kids to adults.
We purchase many toddler and baby items such as handkerchief, swaddle, tower, bib and clothing. We saved a lot by getting our children items here. Thus, we find the designs here are quite ordinary.
You find shoppers with huge shopping bags and shopping trolleys at the main entrance waiting for cars or taxis.

3.Pratunam Wholesale Market
Pratunam Wholesale Market is the most popular outdoor wholesale market in Bangkok. It is located at the intersection of Ratchaprop and Petchburi roads (near Amari Watergate Hotel) and the wholesale market is filled with shops and stalls all the way to Baiyoke Towers (I and II). Hence, the wholesale market is located opposite the Platinum Fashion Mall.
The Pratunam Wholesale Market is like a labyrinth. Once you enter from the main road, you will walk into many shops and stalls and there are a few complexes in the market.
The alleys and shopping lanes are small and it is often packed with tourists, traders and shoppers. Thus, you might see people will huge shopping bags and shopping trolleys here and dragged it out to the main road to catch a taxi.
You can find clothes, shoes and fashion accessories at low prices with wholesale purchase of 3 items and above. However, you can negotiate for single item purchase at higher price. If you can’t speak Thai, you can always use the calculator to indicate your offer.
There are food stalls in between narrow alleys and lanes and always hydrate yourself as it can be hot and stuff on a hot day.

Platinum Fashion Mall is the wholesale shopping haven for many shoppers, traders and tourists. Located in Pratunam, opposite Amari Watergate Hotel and the Pratunam Wholesale Market, Platinum Fashion Mall is a gigantic six storey shopping complex.

Five storey of fashion outlets and one storey of food court and souvenirs and combined of 2224 shops, Platinum Fashion Mall is the Disneyland for shoppers, traders and tourists.

Many traders prefer to visit Platinum Fashion Mall as you can many new designs here and the quality of the items here are better so it is pricier here compare to other wholesale markets.
You need to purchase three items and above for wholesale price. Some shops might offer two items while some shops strictly follow the three items rule.
The mall is fully air conditioned and because there are cafes at a few floors and the food court at the top floors, you can spend a whole day shopping here. Most of the shops closed early at around 7pm.

Sam Peng Yaowarat Wholesale Market is located in Chinatown Bangkok and one of Bangkok best kept secret.
