There are two big announcements in a day today. Maju Expressway (MEX) and Duke Highway to increase their toll rates on 15th October 2015! Traveling to city centre will be pricier now with both toll rates adjustments for sure.
For Maju Expressway (MEX), this is the current toll rates.
Below is the new MEX Highway Toll rates.
There will be at least a RM 0.50 hike on the toll rates. Traveling in Plaza Tol Salak Selatan, Kelas 1 will be an increase of RM 0.50, Kelas 2 (RM 1.00), Kelas 3 (RM 1.50), Kelas 4 (RM 0.20) and Kelas 5 (RM 0.70). For Plaza Tol Putrajaya there will be an increase of toll rates for Kelas 1 (RM 1.00), Kelas 2 (RM 2.00), Kelas 3 (RM 2.50), Kelas 4 (RM 1.00) and Kelas 5 (RM 1.20). Kelas 1 is vehicles with 2 axles including 3 or 4 wheels except taxi, Kelas 2 is vehicles with 2 axles with 5 or 6 wheels expect busses, Kelas 3 is vehicles with 3 or more axles, Kelas 4 is taxis and Kelas 5 is buses.

The Duke Highway toll fares adjustment is shown below.
Traveling in Duke Highway, there will be an increase of Kelas 1 (RM 0.50), Kelas 2 (RM 0.80), Kelas 3 (RM 1.00), Kelas 4 (RM 0.30) and Kelas 5 remains the same.
With the toll rates adjustment, it will be pricier to travel to the city center for sure. There are three new LRT stations expected to open by this month and there might be a price hike for LRT fares by next month too.
