Auntie Sim Kitchen Damansara Uptown CNY Set Menu

Today is the fourth day of Chinese New Year and there are still more than 10 days left to celebrate so where to eat? Auntie Sim Kitchen in Damansara Uptown is one of the restaurants you can consider. They have been around for a while and popular for their Cantonese Teochew cuisine.

What is new for this Chinese New Year is they are offering the Golden Feast featuring Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve and a selection of signature dishes. Please take note that you need to pre-order the dishes two days in advance as this is a special CNY Menu.

We ordered their signature yee sang (not inclusive of the menu) and the specialty of this yee sang is they use vegetables instead of the usual coloured crackers. This is a healthier yee sang and the taste is as good as the usual yee sang.

Braised Dried Abalone with Mushroom and Broccoli

This dish comes with two pieces of braised dried abalone and complement with mushroom and broccoli. The abalones might not be the biggest we had during CNY but at least they are honest about it. What you see is what you get and you do know that abalones are never cheap and pricier than last year. The taste of the sauce is savoury with the gorgeous piece of mushroom.

This interesting spring roll looking dish is wolfberry bamboo fungus with spinach. This is our first time having this dish and the taste is quite subtle and it complements well with Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve.

This is their signature stir fried angus beef with black pepper. We never had such gorgeous beef for some time. The beef is cooked to perfection and we loved the taste and the texture. We don’t mind coming for this dish.

Dry Fried Hong Kong Yee Mee with Fresh Water Prawns

We all love Sang Har noodle and this is the dry version of it. The imported Hong Kong yee mee is delicious and the texture of the noodle is el dente. The fresh water prawns complement so well with the noodles, this is a must try dish in Auntie Sim Kitchen.

There were hits and misses and we absolutely fell in love with the Stir Fried Angus Beef with Black Pepper and Dry Fried Hong Kong Yee Mee with Fresh Water Prawns. If you are looking for a restaurant for CNY, you can try Auntie Sim Kitchen in Damansara Uptown.
