What to eat in Bali? Well there are a few famous on this paradise island and they are ‘babi guling’ (suckling pig) and crispy bebek which simply means crispy duck. We visited Bali a few times and we ventured to quite a few popular restaurants for crispy duck.

The big question is where is the best crispy duck in Bali?

One of the most popular places for bebek is the famous restaurant called Bebek di Tepi Sawah in Ubud. It is very commercialised and the duck is too dry for our liking but their chili sauce is really good.

Recently, we found another restaurant and it is called Warung Eropa (European Restaurant) and it is located in Kuta. This is another popular restaurant but among the locals and you don’t find that many tourists dining here.

Let’s talk about their crispy duck. It is deep fried to perfection and the beauty is the texture of the meat is still juicy and soft unlike others out there. You still can feel the taste of the duck but the down part is the chili sauce is not flavourful, missing the ‘oompph’. I guess you can’t have everything under one roof. Warung Eropa serves really awesome duck while Bebek Tepi Sawah serves awesome chili sauce.

Is Warung Eropa worth the visit? Yes, anytime I will go back there again. Don’t miss this place if you stay in Seminyak or Kuta area and get a taxi, Grab or Uber.
