The X Bangsar Jalan Telawi Review

The X Bangsar is located at 63, Jalan Telawi 3 and opposite Bangsar Village 2 Shopping Mall. The restaurant started as a Japanese restaurant but now more focus to Western cuisine. When we went for dinner and the restaurant was already packed.

The cozy ambience and soft music makes this restaurant a fun place to chill and to dine. We went there with a group of friends and we had a feast for dinner.

The Cocktails

The X Bangsar is popular with their cocktails. We always love to have a couple of cocktails before we start dinner. We ordered two cocktails and they are Push It and Whisky Sour.

Push It is a combination of Lagavulin 16y.o. Bailey’s, Amarula, Milk, SHOTT chocolate. This cocktail is creamy with hints of coffee and chocolate. If you are lover of milk and Bailey’s, this is the one you should order.

This is one of their top seller cocktails and this is really good. We never knew whisky sour can be so ‘refreshing’ and enjoyable. We had two of this.

Snacks

Truffle Fries (RM 16)

What makes fries better? How about with truffle oil? Imagine straight cut French fries deep fried to perfection and infused with fragrant truffle oil and topped with generous amount of grated parmesan. French fries never tasted so good and so luxurious. This is ‘atas’ fries.

A classic nachos dish of baked nachos with homemade guacamole, sour cream, the cheese sauce and jalapeno. This snack goes very well with beer and cocktails before dinner.

Calamari 2 ways (RM 16)

We love fried food and it is hard to go wrong. The X Bangsar offers two different types of serving for this particular dish. Deep fried calamari in squid ink and tempura style with wasabi mayo. This is our first time having squid ink deep fried calamari and it was good. Tempura style with wasabi mayo is another classic. Paired this with beer, you can have this all night long.

For salted egg lovers, their version of calamari is something you should order. Their salted egg calamari is the ‘wet’ version as it comes with salted egg gravy. We love their salted egg gravy and this is something you can consider.

PIZZA

We started our dinner with their signature pizza. It is a huge pizza topped with calamari, shrimp, mussel, salmon, trio capsicum, tomato concasse and mozzarella cheese. What we love about this is it is a thin layered pizza and the generous amount of ingredients that will makes you order for more.

SLIDERS

Their sliders are trio of mini burgers and all sliders are served with Japanese Bamboo Charcoal Buns. You have the choice of beef patties (RM 24) or lamb patties (RM 26).

For beef, it is 80/20 autralian beef patties and for lamb it is New Zealand lamb patties. This is good for sharing and for the patties, it depends on your preferences as either you like beef or lamb. This goes well with beers!

WESTERN MAINS

Roasted Chicken Leg (RM 30)

This paprika roasted chicken leg comes with roasted potatoes, mixed salad and complement with black pepper sauce. The meat is tender and juicy and this is good.

Lamb Cutlet (RM 48)

We are huge fan of lamb racks and this is another dish you should order. Their New Zealand lamb racks are cooked to medium rare and comes with roasted potatoes, mixed salad and black pepper sauce. The taste of the lamb is good on its own and we loved this a lot. Forget about the fork and knife, just use the hands! It will taste better.

Lastly, we have the 180 grams Australian sirloin steak with roasted potatoes, mixed salad and black pepper sauce cooked in medium rare. This is so satisfying, the taste of the Australian sirloin and the soft texture of the meat. What can we say more?
