For the past few days, the netizens have been talking about the official Visit Malaysia 2020 Logo. It was launched a few days ago by Malaysia Tourism and Culture Minister, YB Dato’ Seri Mohamed Nazri Aziz at ASEAN Tourism Forum (ATF) in Chiang Mai Thailand yesterday. You can read our story here.
One of the biggest question is the tagline. What is the tagline ‘travel, enjoy, respect’ really means? Why is ‘respect’ part of the caption, we don’t really get it until now.
We found another tourism campaign with the same tagline. It is from 2017 International Year of Sustainable Tourism for Development.
They are having the same tagline too which is Travel. Enjoy. Respect and they even have their own hashtag. #travelenjoyrespect
The campaign was for 2017 and the tagline is explained as below:
The #IY2017 will promote tourism’s role in the following five key areas:
(1) Inclusive and sustainable economic growth
(2) Social inclusiveness, employment and poverty reduction
(3) Resource efficiency, environmental protection and climate change
(4) Cultural values, diversity and heritage
(5) Mutual understanding, peace and security.
