5 Places To Travel in Southeast Asia

5 places

Travelling has been a fun activity I greatly enjoyed. Be it with my friends or with family, nevertheless, I find travel to be another medium for me to explore the world (of course) and to learn about them as I travel. Yeah, you can say when you travel, you get to see different places, people and culture, but what you get out of it is so much more. The growth your mind have experienced before and after you travel is something spectacular. For today’s entry, I’ll be sharing with you the best explorations you can benefit out of in SouthEast Asia! I know some of you know this, but for those who are new to travelling and the world per se, SEA (SouthEast Asia) is one of the most interesting collective places you can go to explore. So, let’s get to it, shall we?

PALAWAN – PHILIPPINES

Philippines is one of the SEA nations that consist of the highest numbers of islands you can find, that is 7,461 islands to be exact. If you are looking for insane island hopping/exploration, you can bet you will have the time of your life travelling to the Philippines. Some of the popular islands including Boracay, Luzon, Mindanao and Cebu, BUT, the highlight of today’s entry is Palawan. Before I start rambling about Palawan, let’s have a moment of silence to admire the island itself.

What a beauty, am I right?

Palawan is the largest island in the Philippines, so, you can bet the number of exciting things this beautiful nature has to offer. Scuba diving and snorkelling are two of the most popular activities you should try here on the island. Explore the Tubbataha Reef, the Underground River Tour and the Big Lagoon.

ANGKOR WAT – CAMBODIA

Cambodia housed most of the legendary and impressive architectural temples from my point of view. Their history is just as jaw-dropping as the structure of each temple you can find there. It’s pretty amazing to see such building went through years and years of civilization but remained intact till today. The Angkor is built by Suryavarman II circa 1112 – 52 and may I say, he did a pretty amazing job. Angkor Wat is rich in its histories and stories. If you are interested in history and culture, you will have the time of your lives visiting here.

We visited Angkor Wat twice and to be honest, bring as much sunscreen as you can. The view of Angkor Wat is different from sunrise to sunset.

BANGKOK – THAILAND

Welcome to the city where you can find anything and everything you need. Known as the Krung Thep Maha Nakhon or Krung Thep, Bangkok is the most populous capital in Thailand. Be amazed at the famous Reclining Buddha at Wat Pho, take a stroll down the busy market at Chatuchak Market, shop like there is no tomorrow at Platinum Mall and take a boat trip down the Chao Phraya River.

You can read all our stories on Bangkok here.

BORNEO – SABAH

In Peninsular Malaysia, Sabah has been known to be one of the most beautiful countries to visit among other places in Malaysia. Why? Well, for starters, Borneo has amazing mountains that would make a wonderful place for hikers alike. Hikers will find it both challenging and enticing for their trip. Conquer the top of Mount Trusmadi where you will also get the perfect view of Mount Kinabalu – another good hiking place known to locals and tourists. Aside from that, you should not miss out on exploring the wilderness in Trek Maliau Basin and Tiga Island where the famous show “Survivor” was filmed.

In short, Southeast Asia is a fun place to venture, whether you are travelling with your friends and family. Of course, this is not the only places that are interesting to go to, in fact, this is just the tip of the iceberg if you asked me. There are a lot of packages out there that will give you the best deals if you ever plan on going on a trip to one of these places. Oh, speaking of deals, I heard Traveloka is giving out cool Malindo Air promotion across Southeast Asia. Good thing I stumble upon it when I was doing some research on today’s entry. Who knew Malindo Air promotion is a thing? Have you ever use Traveloka before? I heard they give out cool promotions from time to time. Share your stories if you have! Would love to know more~
