Easy Home Cooked Braised Pork Belly and Eggs Cooking Recipe

We wanted start to make simple easy home cooked recipe videos and this is the first of them. This the easy home cooked braised pork belly and eggs.


When we say this easy home cooked, this means that you don’t need much cooking talent or skills to cook this recipe. It is very simple and you can watch the entire video below.

The Easy Home Cooked Braised Pork Belly and Eggs Cooking Recipe ingredients are as follows:

500 g of Pork Belly

Boiled Eggs

Garlic, Ginger, Star Anise & Rock Sugar

3 Tablespoons of Oyster Sauce

2 Tablespoons of Thick Soy Sauce




Easy Home Cooked Braised Pork Belly and Eggs Cooking Steps:

Cook the pork belly first without oil using medium heat in the wok.

Smashed the garlic.

After a couple of minutes when you spot the oil is coming out from the pot, you can put in the garlic, ginger and star anise.

Then you can put in 3 Tablespoons of Oyster Sauce and 2 Tablespoons of Thick Soy Sauce. If you want darker colour, you put one more tablespoon of thick soy sauce.

Pour into water until it reached the pork belly level and add the rock sugar.

Covered the wok and simmer for 90 minutes using medium heat. You can turn the pork belly around for every 30 minutes.

Put in the eggs after 90 minutes and simmer for another 30 minutes using medium heat. The pork is ready after two hours. If you think the pork is ready after 90 minutes, you can take it out. Use the stick or chopstick to poke it feel the texture. Since everyone is using different stove, the cooking time estimate from 90 min to 120 min.

Take out the pork belly and cut into pieces. You should get the three-layered pork belly with soft texture. Pour the sauces and you can mix it together or use it as complement sauce.

This is pretty simple and it takes around 90 – 120 mins of cooking. No skills needed.

You can teach your maid to cook this and our boys loved this. The texture of the pork belly is soft and the sauce is flavourful. You can always alter the ingredients for your liking.
