Lunch at Khmer Heritage Restaurant, Cambodia

Lunch at Khmer Heritage Restaurant, Cambodia
Last year, I celebrated Rachel’s birthday in Siem Reap, Cambodia. We spent four days there and we loved it. We went to ten temples in one day, it was tiring but it was fun. At that time, the weather was hot and temperature during day time can reach 38 degree Celsius. It was one of the craziest things we did for some time.
During noon, we went to this Khmer Heritage Restaurant for lunch which is located near Angkor Wat. It is a small stand-alone house …

Siem Reap Cambodia Day 2: Angkor Wat, Bayon, Banteay Srei, Roluos Group Temples, Bakong, Preah Ko and Lo Lei
We had an adventurous day for our first day in Siem Reap and we were looking forward for another one for day two. I booked our tour package on AirAsiaGo.com but it was only for half day. Thus, we added another half day tour thanks to the advice from the tour guide. We paid extra for it but it was all worth it.
We were supposed to leave our hotel at 4.30 am …

This was an impromptu trip. I bought the travel package from AirAsiaGo.com. It was under their Last Minute Deal promotion. …

Tonle Sap, Largest Freshwater Lake in South East Asia

Tonle Sap, Largest Freshwater Lake in South East Asia
Thousands or maybe millions visitors visit Siem Reap for only one reason, Angkor Wat. That is going to change as there is another place is worth a visit in Siem Reap, the Tonle Sap Lake.
Why is this lake so worth visiting? For most of the year, the lake takes up 2,700 square km which is relatively small. However, during the monsoon the lake swelled to 16,000 square km which more than 5 times of its original size!
The journey from the Siem Reap …

The Angkor Spirit Palace Hotel Review Siem Reap
On our first trip to Siem Reap Cambodia, we stayed at Angkor Spirit Palace Hotel. We booked the hotel via AirAsiaGo.com’s Last Minute Deal Package. The package inclusive of flight, hotel room, airport transfer and holiday tours.
I have screened through dozens of hotels in Siem Reap and I wanted something unique than the rest and also within our budget. The trip was a surprise birthday trip for Rachel so I organized the whole trip without her knowledge.

The hotel is located near the city …

Sunset Fun at Bakheng Hill, Siam Reap, CAMBODIA

Sunset Fun at Bakheng Hill, Siam Reap, CAMBODIA
We never had so much fun exploring temples like we did in Siem Reap. It was our third day in Siam Reap and we ended the day with the sunset at Bakheng Hill. We ventured to 12 places on that day itself, the tour guide was amazed by our energies. He kept on telling us most of the temples are the same. I can’t blame him after 12 places as that day it was as hot as 42 degree Celsius, most people would …

The Chong Khneas Floating Village, Tonle Sap Lake, CAMBODIA

The Chong Khneas Floating Village, Tonle Sap Lake, CAMBODIA
The moment Rachel and I were picked up by tour agency van from the airport of Siem Reap, the tour guide was selling us the Tonle Sap Lake tour. As the rest looked unconvinced, we booked the tour for ourselves. Frankly, it wasn’t the first time I heard about Tonle Sap Lake. Fellow friend blogger, David of MalaysiaAsia has already told me earlier on.
After checking in the hotel and 15 min later, we hopped on to the tour van and we were …

The 3 Dollars BBQ Beef with Noodles and 2 Dollars Chen Choun Fish at Siem Reap Stalls, Cambodia

3 Dollars BBQ Beef with Noodles at Siem Reap Stalls, Cambodia
Opposite the ever popular Pub Street of Siem Reap, there are group of food stalls serving variety of food from BBQ to local delicacies. Rather than dining at the nicer looking restaurants in Pub Street, we preferred to go local for one of the nights.

A little girl showed us the menu, as we then cramped into a wooden table. It wasn’t dirty, don’t get me wrong. It is similar to the local roadside stalls in Malaysia. The lady boss came …

Travel Tips for Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia

Travel Tips for Angkor Wat, Siem Reap, Cambodia
I just came back from Angkor Wat a few days ago. Like many first timers, I booked my tour online before I reached Siam Reap. Well, sadly the tour that I had book, was exclusive of Angkor Wat. The reason being was I didn’t do much information about Angkor Wat.
The Real Angkor Wat?
There are more than dozens of temples in Siem Reap and Angkor Wat circuit. Be exact, book Angkor Wat (temple) tour rather than the big circuit tour which inclusive of many …

Lolei, Siem Reap Roluos Northernmost Temple, CAMBODIA

Lolei, Siem Reap Roluos Northernmost Temple, CAMBODIA
For the last few days, I visited 15 temples in Siem Reap. It was fun but tiring, I took heaps of pictures of the temples. It’s time to share it now. The first temple of the 15 temples I’m going to introduce, the Lolei.

Lolei is one of the 3 Roluos’ group of temples. It is built in late 9th century, and the remaining 2 temples of the Roluos group will be Preah Ko and Bakong.

Lolei is not one of the most popular temples to …
