Cherating Turtle Sanctuary Visit

Cherating Turtle Sanctuary Visit
Our stay in Cherating last year gave us opportunities to visit places in Chukai and Cherating like the Cherating Turtle Sanctuary.
Going to Cherating Turtle Sanctuary is a must in Cherating. After enjoying the sandy white beaches of Cherating, the turtle sanctuary is located within the hotel areas of the main road of Cherating. There are lots of road signs showing the direction to the turtle sanctuary. We followed the signs and found the sanctuary.

In fact, the Cherating Turtle Sanctuary is actually located quite near to the Cherating …

A short Sunday post. My last December trip to Krabi with my friends was a memorable one. Though the company was good, but the scenery was better. Let me explain also why we picked to stay in Aonang instead of Krabi town.
Before the trip, I tried to look for images of Aonang of Krabi, nothing much was found. So then, during the trip I took quite a number of Aonang of Krabi to show it here on my blog. Aonang  is a popular hot …

Taiping’s Best Hotel, Flemington Hotel

Taiping’s Best Hotel, Flemington Hotel
Taiping had a new hotel to their addition in 2009, the Flemington Hotel. Located opposite the popular Taiping Lake, Flemington Hotel was the official hotel for the 2009 4×4 Larut Hill International Challenge.

The Flemington Hotel has one of the best view of the Taiping lake in Taiping.

The room itself is spacious, with LCD TV and modern looking carpet. There’s also a small chair with a small round coffee table by the large glass window. Not forgetting there’s a work table with a nice leather chair. The …

Stir Fried Shark Meat at Henkey, Balakong

My parents had been telling me a good place to eat fish in Taman Putra Budiman in Balakong for the past few days. Last Sunday, I decided to treat them and my in-laws for the “Chap Goh Meh” dinner there. Though the place falls under Balakong but its only a stone away from Gita Bayu. They moved from Chan Sow Lin area years ago. They moved after the construction of the SMART highway.

It’s not one of the fancy restaurants in town. It’s just a small non airconditioned restaurant in one …

Argentina’s Tango Artist, Guillermo Alio

Argentina’s Tango Artist, Guillermo Alio
There’s a lot of tango dancers and artists in Argentina but finding the best of both world is not easy. Luckily, I found one by the name of Guillermo Alio in La Boca. La Boca is one of the places you couldn’t miss in Buenos Aires. Rich by history itself, I went to La Boca with my friend Shakhira. La Boca is also the home for the world renowned football team, Boca Juniors.

Unlike the city of Buenos Aires, La Boca simply different. Different in the sense …

The Chimichurri Sauce, The Argentine Hot Sauce

Silly me. After staying in Argentina for more than 25 days, only I realized that Argentina has their own hot chili sauce, the chimichurri sauce. As a Malaysian, our country is blessed with heavily spiced food and sauces.
Though I couldn’t take hot food as much as my wife, Rachel. My taste bud and my crave for hot sauce, is always there.
While having lunch in La Boca at the last few days of my Argentine visit, I was introduced to this hot sauce by a fellow Malaysian who resides there, Shakhira. …

Eva Peron, Evita’s Tomb at La Recoleta Cemetery, Buenos Aires, ARGENTINA

My visit to Eva Peron or most popular known as Evita’s tomb was planned by fellow friend “One Dollar”. Unexpectedly, friends from the 4×4worldexplorer.com expedition, “One Dollar” and “Banker” returned to Buenos Aires early from Brazil Rio’s Samba Festival.  Having them with me in Buenos Aires was a blessing. They taught me how to read the map and how to take the subway or better known as “tube” here. Later on, they left to Rio Gallegos to join the rest of the 4×4worldexplorer.com expedition. Sadly, I left a week earlier …

My First Small Aircraft Flying Experience with Aero Club Ushuaia, ARGENTINA

Upon arriving Ushuaia, Argetntina I often see the light aircraft venturing the sky. Thus, I asked one of the local tour operator out of curiosity and it wasn’t expensive. Half an hour flight cost around US$ 70 and an hour flight cost around US$ 120.
I never had an experience flying with a small aircraft before so I will not miss this opportunity. Together with buddy “Double Zero” Rate De Silva, we went to the Aero Club Ushuaia Airport with one reason and one reason only, FLYING!

“Double Zero” had his flying …

Paso Garibaldi, Patagonia, Tierra del Fuego, ARGENTINA

After 2 weeks of driving from Buenos Aires, daily scenery of Patagonia, its time to reach the Ushuaia, the southernmost city in the world. Going to Ushuaia from Rio Gallegos must bypass Chile. Weird but true. After the hassle of checking in and out of Chile and back to Argentina again, we drove towards south to our most important destination, Ushuaia.

Again, we were treated by breathtaking scenery of Argentina. Before arriving Ushuaia, we stopped at Paso Garibaldi.

Around the area lies the sharp peaks of the Sierra Valdivieso and Sierra Alvear. …
