My younger brother who was residing in Los Angeles told me that there is an interesting seafood restaurant that he often visits. The place is called The Boiling Crab. With 6 outlets and counting, The Boiling Crab offers seafood and the whole shebang!

The Boiling Crab Alhambra Main is the outlet my brother and her fiancé visited.

The ambience is very happy get together setting, ideal for families or friends. I was told the place is very popular among locals.

There you will be painted or hand sketched walls with funny pictures such as Cindy Crawfish.

They started off with ½ dozen of raw oysters for US$7.99. It comes with Tabasco Sauce and slices of lemons.

The uniqueness of this restaurant is you get to get your hands dirty. Seriously… very dirty. The table is covered with plastic table cloth and customers are encouraged to use their hands. Don’t worry as they are very generous with the paper napkins.

The seafood comes in basket. Everything comes in a plastic bag with lots of sauce. Choose the sauce wisely from the “original” Rajun Cajun, Lemon Pepper or Garlic Butter. My brother’s recommendation is the Whole Shebang which is everything together.

The shrimp is a very popular dish there. Priced at US$ 8.99 per lb, the shrimps are flavourful and juicy.

The other popular seafood there is the lobster.

Lobsters are seasonal and it weighed according to the market price. My brother loves this! The basket comes handy at the end of the day for shells and remainders.

It was another enjoyable and fun seafood dinner at The Boiling Crab. It is highly recommended for seafood lovers in Los Angeles.

After spending more than 18 hours flying from Changi Airport Singapore with Singapore Airlines, I finally arrived at Newart Airport in New York with my clients. Though this happened a few years ago, what I had experience during the New York trip was unforgettable.
Traveling at such long distance was tiring. As soon as we reached the airport, we took a taxi to Times Square as we stayed in Best Western Hotel. After sorting our rooms, we went to Times Square for dinner.

Like the scene from TV series “Heroes”, we were pretty excited by Times Square itself. Together with thousands of other tourists around the world, we were showered by the lights of Times Square. Eventually, we toured around Times Square for hours. Seriously we didn’t know where the energy came from but we were very energetic.

Check out the photos below and also do like our fan page on Facebook, the complete album is available there.

Welcome to Times Square New York!

Everyone was busy taking pictures.

Remember this famous spot?

Look at the crowd, it was around 11pm!

Amazed by the lights.

We went back to the hotel past midnight. The next day was a hectic day but we enjoyed ourselves at Times Square. Some of the restaurants there are good and shopping is fun there! Definitely a must visit place in New York!

This is another important landmark on Manhattan, New York. I have never seen such a huge park in a city of such scale. I spotted the Central Park at the top of Rockefeller Center. The huge park covers more than 843 acres and it has an annual visitor of 25 million visitors. 25 million visitors is almost the size of Malaysia’s population.
This was my experience visiting the park a few years ago and this week I’m clearing off all my New York backlogs.

Central Park from the top of Rockefeller Center.

After looking at Central Park from the top, I managed to walk into Central Park near the Merchant’s Gate. That is near Trump Tower which is located at the Fifth Avenue. It is just a stone away from the Merchant’s Gate.

The Merchant’s Gate of Central Park
One thing I dislike about the city tour is the length of a visit of any tourist attractions. I had only 20 to 30 min max for a particular tourist attraction. I wished I could spend more time at Central Park but in reality I had only close to 30 min for the huge park.

Walking in from Merchant’s Gate, I could see a small portion of Central Park. Though it was spring but it was still very cold. If the trees were blossomed, it would an awesome sight.

I hope to visit Central Park again in the future. I want to visit the Central Park Zoo which is popularized by animation movies such as “Madagascar” and also the Central Park Carousel which is the one of the largest “merry-go-rounds” in United States. Please do allocate at least half a day to visit Central Park to avoid disappointments. Thank you for reading.

We have seen it so many times on TV. It is one of the most popular and important icon of New York. It is no other than the Statue of Liberty. During my trip to New York, I managed to see the Statue of Liberty on the cruise. The cruise tour I joined was a sight-seeing tour.

It was a very windy chilly afternoon. I met a Canadian couple on the cruise and had a lengthy chat with them. I was mainly promoting Malaysia for a possible destination for them.

The cruise sight-seeing tour took around 1-2 hours and it passed by the Statue of Liberty and a few famous bridges. Even from far, the Statue of Liberty looks majestic. Sadly, the tour did not include the Liberty Island tour. If not, I would have taken the picture of it nearer.

One of the most notable moments involving the Statue of Liberty would be the “The Disappearance of Statue of Liberty” by Magician David Copperfield and “The Walking Statue of Liberty” in the movie “Ghostbusters 2”.

However, it was good experience as I can witness the Statue of Liberty with my own eyes. This is a must visit place when you are in New York or New Jersey.

Thank you for reading!

It was a cold April spring. I was in New York City for a work assignment for a few days. During the last few days, we had time to tour around. Wall Street was one of the tour destinations.

Included in many local tours, Wall Street is famous to be the home of the New York Stock Exchange which is the world’s largest stock exchange. It was like a scene from a movie.

I spotted the George Washington statue in front of Federal Hall opposite of NYSE.

The most notable building would e the NYSE building.

I missed the “raging bull” sculpture though. We spent a mere 15 minutes there. To be frank, there is not much to see in Wall Street. The main objective was experience. This is one of the must visit places in lower Manhattan, New York City.

One of the main attractions of Times Square New York. Seriously its hard to miss this. I mean the Hershey’s Times Square. Located at the opposite of M&M World Times Square, the building can be visibly seen from far.

Picture taken from my last visit there in 2004.

Hershey’s is the largest chocolate manufacturer of North America. Trust me, the store has everything, especially my favourite, Hershey’s Special Dark Chocolate. Lots of selections, lots of choices.
A must visit place in Times Square New York.

Should I jump in joy? I found most of my old travel pictures in one of my external hard drive. My trip to New York City in 2007 was a memorable one. One of the places that was significantly unforgettable was the Ground Zero site at the World Trade Center Path Station.

Please bear in mind the pictures are taken in April 2007. We reached Ground Zero around 4-5 pm that day. Yet, the place was crowded.

The sign in front of the World Trade Center Path Station.

There were ongoing work to build the new World Trade Center, the Freedom Tower.

The people were looking at one of the many information at the site.

Everyone was busying reading the information on the notice boards. Wonder what is on the board?

The time line of the event of the 9/11. The whole actual timeline of the whole event of the terrorist attack. Many lives were killed on that day. Many of us couldn’t believe what we saw on TV. We were in Sydney back then.

There, I could felt nothing more than sorrow for the lives that perished for that incident. The place used to have the grand World Trade Center left nothing but just an empty land. It was an unforgettable place indeed and hopefully I can go there again to visit the Freedom Tower in the future.

New York, I always heart you….

Do not expect anything spectacular on this hotel. The design and décor is a bit old and it is just next to a Chinese restaurant. I didn’t have any problems staying there, just that they were repairing the elevators at that time. The room was decent nothing spectacular, I stayed 3 nights there.

The main advantage of Best Western President Hotel is the convenience. I spent most of my evenings at Times Square which is less than 2 minute walk from the hotel. The rates were reasonable as well. In fact, I recommend it to my younger brother when he went there for Christmas a few years ago.

The hotel is definitely a good choice for budget traveler. I don’t mind staying there again if I would go to New York. If you are a fancy traveler, this is not ideal for you.
