Sung Sot Cave, Halong Bay
We visited Halong Bay late last year after we read so many positive reviews on the UNESCO Heritage site. The Halong Bay is four hours drive away from Hanoi and you will not be disappointed by the scenic view throughout the journey.
We stayed a night on the junk booked via TravelMob.com. You can read our experience at Stay in a Junk in Halong Bay with TravelMob.com.
On our first day in Halong Bay, we visited the Sung Sot Cave. For your information, Sung Sot Cave is the …

Homestay in Ba Dinh Hanoi with TravelMob.com
I stayed 3 nights in Hanoi, 1 night in Hoan Kiem (the Old Quarter) and 2 nights in Ba Dinh or also known as the “French Quarter”. This is the eastern side of Hanoi, the other direction of the western side of Hoan Kiem, the old quarter.
For my experience in Ba Dinh, it is more urban and it is more Vietnamese. Hoan Kiem is more for tourist while Ba Dinh is more for the locals.
The alleys of Ba Dinh neighbourhood.
This one bedroom apartment is …

Mondo Italian Café and Restaurant Hoan Kiem, Hanoi
The beauty of traveling in Hoan Kiem or the Old Quarter of Hanoi is it is infested with many cafes and restaurants. There is a good blend of local Vietnames cafes or l cafes, for example the Mondo Italian Café and Restaurant.
While on our way to visit the Hoa Lo Prison, the old prison or also known as the “Hanoi Hilton”, we stumbled upon the Mondo Italian Café and Restaurant at Mondo 68 Quán Sứ Street. It is located just a stone throw …

Long Bien Bridge (Paul Doumer) of Gustave Eiffel
It is hard to believe when I learnt that Gustave Eiffel , the man behind Eiffel Tower in Paris actually plays a part in building the Long Bien Bridge, former Paul Doumer Bridge in Hoan Kiem Hanoi. The beauty of traveling in Hoan Kiem, old quarter of Hanoi is the attractions are reachable by foot. It took us less than half an hour from the Hoan Kiem lake and in between there are also attractions to stop by.
Long Bien Bridge is a historic …

Crumpler, North Face, Samsonite Bags in Hanoi
We knew that some of the bags manufacturers have their factories in Vietnam. Some of the most recognized brands are like Samsonite and Crumpler. During our trip to Hanoi, we bumped to stalls selling these bags with prices way cheaper than the original.
The beautiful Ho Guom lake in Hoan Kiem.
Most of these stalls are ideally located around the Ho Guom Lake at the Old Quarters or better known as Hoan Kiem.
Where to find Crumpler, North Face, Samsonite Bags in Hanoi?
One of the stalls …

Little Hanoi Vietnamese Restaurant Review (Lonely Planet)
As recommended by Lonely Planet, we went to the Little Hanoi Restaurant in Hoan Kiem or also known as the Old Quarter of Hanoi. We walked for the whole day in Hanoi but the lovely winter weather made it easier for us, no sweat or tears.
We heard so many good raves and reviews on this restaurant and it was dubbed as “the must try restaurant in Hanoi”. The last stop before Little Hanoi was Dong Xuan market and we got lost on our inaccurate …

Homestay in Hoan Kiem with TravelMob.com
We recently travelled to Hanoi and Halong Bay on our own. It was our first trip to Vietnam and we intended to go budget. We heard quite a number of negative remarks on traveling in Vietnam and most of them are untrue. Maybe they were talking about Saigon (Ho Chin Minh) but Hanoi is one of our best trips ever.
For the first night in Hanoi, I chose to stay in Hoan Kiem or the Old Quarter with TravelMob.com. At first, we planned to head straight …

Homestay in Hanoi with TravelMob.com
A few weeks ago, we visited Hanoi and Halong Bay for the first time. Like many first timers, I’m having trouble choosing the right accommodation for my trip to Vietnam. I’ve stayed in boutique hotels, luxury hotels, resorts and even camps before but never really stayed in a homestay for an entire vacation before.
Search where you intend to stay and when you plan to stay and hit “search”.
So how did I get to know travelmob.com? A few weeks ago, I listened to an interview of travelmob …

VietMac Review Hoan Kiem Hanoi Vietnam
It was something interesting we stumbled upon or recommended by our homestay’s host in Hanoi. It is an intermarriage of McD and Vietnamese local food, it is called the VietMac.
We spotted one of them in the “old quarter” of Hanoi or better known as Hoan Kiem District. The restaurant was painted in red with its iconic cute Penguin logo.
We stepped in and greeted by the smiley waitress who conversed with us with Vietnamese (like many who mistaken us as Vietnamese). We looked through the menu …
