Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain (雪山飛狐) at Fei Fei Crab
For the fans of Jin Yong, they must know the story of Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain(雪山飛狐). The story was serialized in 1959. However, we are not talking about that fiction story but a type of dish. The nickname Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain (雪山飛狐)  is actually given to Salt Wrap Fish which is very popular in Bukit Tinggi near Genting Highlands. I had my first encounter with Flying Fox of Snowy Mountain (雪山飛狐) three years ago in Cheras at Restoran …

Ramly Burger Special Chili Padi at Pandan Jaya, Cheras
Last week, I found a new good Ramly Burger joint in Cheras. It is located at Jalan Pandan 3/6, see map below. It is just walking distance from the Pandan Jaya LRT station.

It looks like a typical Ramly burger stall, but it is not. To begin with, they are not using butter at all. Most Ramly burger stalls use butter for to toast the bun and to cook with burger patty.

Instead, they vegetable shortening. I almost mistaken it as mayonnaise but after …

How do you know that your parents support you in blogging?
They arranged restaurant for us to review! Seriously, my parents arrange this food review session for us. We’ve been to this restaurant a couple of times and we knew the owners very well. Located beside Hong Leong bank and opposite of Cheras Leisure Mall, Ahroy Thai Cuisine is one of the popular Thai restaurant in the neighbourhood. Serving authentic Thai food, most of the chefs there are Thais. Wonder what’s the double celebrations is all about? …

I was invited to Kalau Keju, Mest Kraft Media Launch on the 11th of August at Uptown Car Park. Like usual, I was there early and walking around taking pictures.

The location…

Well, actually its the official launch of “Roti Kraft” and “Burger Kraft”. According to the Diether Shulz, General Manager of Kraft Malaysia, we Malaysians are incredibly creative with our foods, so “Roti Kraft” and “Burger Kraft” are great examples of that creativity. Roti Kraft is the combination of Kraft cheese with the usual roti canai while Burger Kraft is the …

There’s one famous big Pau in Cheras. Its called the Yip Chee Mei or Amy Yip Big Pau. The pau is so big until they have to named it after a famous 90′s big breasted Hong Kong AV actress, Yip Chee Mei. I’m not sure whether they pay royalty to her though.
The stall is located at the both sides of the main road of Taman Connaught. Normally, patrons would take away rather than eating there on the spot.

The stall opposite BHP station of Taman Connaught (same row with Restoran Sun …

Like some or probably many people in town, I never heard of snow beer before. It started last week when my designer started a conversation about the snow beer.
Well, after another few days, I brought Rachel for dinner there. The place is located in Cheras Business Centre. The shop is located in the middle area of the business centre, not the shoplots facing the main roads. Its behind Restoran Janbo and KWSP office.

It was my lucky day, I got a really lovely parking spot. When I reached there, the boss …

There’s quite a distinct difference between gas cooked hokkien mee and charcoal cooked hokkien mee. Correct me if I’m wrong, charcoal cooked hokkien mee tends to taste nicer. There’s 2 places in Cheras uses charcoal for their hokkien mee. But sad to say, I didn’t review it yet on this blog. I still have backlog of at least 20-30 reviews so far.
I had been in Kota Damansara often lately. Mainly because of an ongoing project. So then one day when I was looking for lunch, I spotted this place. Sentul …

This was random. Went to Pandan Indah for lunch today with the boys and started to pick a restaurant to eat. Today I preferred skipping the 2 famous pan mee shops there. Looking for new thing to eat.
Located beside Restoran Kin Kin, the famous chili pan mee shop and opposite Pandan Jaya Police station, this place was not hard to find.
The crowd was starting to pack the place so we took our orders.

I ordered dry noodle with beef meat and beef balls. The dry noodle came like this. But after …

I had a lunch in Dave’s Deli with Hitomi G weeks ago at Subang Parade. It has been a while since my last Dave’s Deli visit.
Let me tell you a story about my history with Dave’s Deli. My family loved Dave’s Deli when they opened their outlet in One Utama. My dad used to drive us all the way from Cheras to One Utama for Dave’s Deli. Like father like son, “gung-ho!!”
Years later, Dave’s Deli began to expand. From there, their food quality dropped. Don’t hate me for saying …

I was looking thru a Food Directory book (yes, such book existed and it can be very handy for food “expeditions”) few days ago and I spotted Keyway. I remember I ate there before! So I went to search in my picture folders and I found it! It happened on 8th of Dec 2008. It was a lovely Sunday and I met up with Rachel and her family there.
I was told this place has been there for a while. Located across Giant in Paramount Garden, I guess …
