Cotes du Rhone Rouge 2006 (RM82)
50% Grenache, 25% Mourvedre, 25% Syrah (1 yr in oak casks). Deep, bright, garnet-red colour. A fresh, crisp wine, small soft fruit and spices. A full-bodied, elegant wine, with small soft fruit and spices. A full-bodied, elegant wine, with mellow tannins, warmth and aromatic intensity. A complete wine with lots of length on the palate. Elegance and finesse due to well-balanced tannins and fruit.
Rosemary Lamb Cutlet with port wine reduction lamb jus was next. Though it looked petite but when I cut it, I could see the pinkish color of the texture of the meat. Trust me, Ciki would love the pink pink colour. Who doesn’t? This was paired with E Guigal Crozes Hermitage Rouge 2005.
Tarragon Fillet Mignon with cabernet jus was the other choice. Thick in size but tender on the inside. A cut on the meat revealed a well pinkish colour within. Another one that Ciki would never refuse. The combination with E Guigal Crozes Hermitage Rouge 2005 could only makes it better. Trust me for this.
Crozes Hermitage Rouge 2005 (RM120)
100% Syrah. Ageing in barrels 24 months, 50% in large oak casks and 50% in small barrels. Good concentration with strong colours and nice tannins. It possesses aromas of grilled meats, smoked herbs, red as well as black fruits, and a soft, open-knit, smoky character.
When we thought the feast was over only to be joyed with the Tiramisu dessert. With such a nice presentation, we could nevertheless ate it with our full tummies.
What the result of good food, great wine, cozy place and lovely friends together? PRICELESS.
The set meal paired with the wine cost RM 188 nett per person.
