Kelantan is always the mysterious side of Peninsula Malaysia. Located at the north east of peninsula, driving to Kelantan will take at least 6 to 7 hours. The easiest way to go to Kelantan is to fly to Kota Bahru.
Kelantan is the Islamic state of Malaysia, ruled by the opposition party. The strict Islamic laws include no entertainment such as cinemas and pubs. However, the people live there happily with harmony.
Many people might think it is too tough for the non-Muslims. However, the truth speaks otherwise. Many people would think that there is no pork or no proper Chinese food in Kelantan. That is so wrong. My working trip to Kota Bahru last year brought me to this lovely Bak Kut Teh stall. Bak Kut Teh is a tea soup based Malaysia Chinese food. It is often comes in a bowl of fragrant soup with pork belly, ribs, intestines and etc.
The stall is in Kow Lun Restoran, Chinese food court or food centre. It is located at 7006, Jalan Kebun Sultan. Ask around, you will find it. Kota Bahru is a small town, driving around the town is easy.
Back to the food, I didn’t have much expectation since it’s Kota Bahru. However the BKT didn’t disappoint me at all. For the pricing, it is reasonable.
The soup is quite flavourful. It is not the hot pepper type of soup. Overall, it was quite good, no complains.
For those who are craving for BKT in Kota Bahru, you know where to find a good one now!

wow…Kelantan also have BKT. It’s hard to find BKT in Trengganu. I thought it would be worse in Kelantan. Looks like I am wrong

There’s one near Chung Hwa Primary School, 2 or 3 houses beside Klinik Khoo if I’m not mistaken. You will see it on the way to Kampung Cina (that’s wear Zhen Xing Temple is).
Hmm… Behind 4Season Restaurant have one. At Ri Sing Restaurant?*if I’m not mistaken~ hehe*
There are still a few of BKT places at Kebun Sultan besides the one you had at 9Long. (1 is with the Sheng Yu Zhou/Mi Fen place, beside the Lakeside [zhap cai place] ; 1 is on the opposite road which their BKT is quite a little / very different from the others ; other’s i’m not sure)
I’m not really sure about the others cause I’m not actually a fan of BKT. hehe… sorry~ Maybe you could try out some other food there~ 😛
