When we visited Hong Kong for the first time, we stayed in Guang Dong Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui. Hence, on our second trip we wanted to stay in Mongkok Kowloon. After some research online and recommendations from friends, we decided to stay in Standford Hotel Hong Kong
The hotel is located at Soy Street and it is very near to the sports shoe street (Fa Yuen Street) and Ladies market. This is the right hotel for shoppers. Hence, it is 10 minutes walking distance to Mongkok MTR station.
Somehow we didn’t take any picture of the exterior of the hotel. We searched our pictures but couldn’t find one. Probably, we deleted it by mistake.
We stayed in Stanford twice as we were traveling from Hong Kong > Macau > China > Hong Kong.
The first room we stayed was the single bed room. The hotel was fully booked and they got our room wrong. Well, it was fine for us as the front desk apologised to us once they knew the error.
The room is small as expected. However, we heard other hotel rooms in Hong Kong is way smaller.
The stay was good, convenient as we can walk to the MTR station as well as shopping at the famous sports shoe street and other area of Mongkok. Restaurants are nearby as well as convenience stores.
On our second stay they got our room correct with a double bed room. In fact the double bed room was smaller than the single room. Other than that, the facilities are the exactly the same.
In conclusion, we loved the convenience of Stanford Hotel. Although it is near to the busy streets of Mongkok, our stay was a peaceful one. The rooms were clean and the front desk staffs were helpful. Stanford Hotel is recommended!
