It’s official! We won our second blog award for 2012. PlacesAndFoods.com won Malaysia International Tourism Duty Free Shopping Blog for Malaysia International Tourism Bloggers Conference and Awards 2012.

The conference will be held on at the 8th and 9th May 2012 at Seri Pacific Hotel Kuala Lumpur. The event was made possible by Social Media Chambers and supported by Tourism Ministry of Malaysia.

R.H.D-Kenya aims to build confidence, raise self-esteem and empower poor rural communities we work with to participate fully in their own affair and decision making to facilitate community based projects. This is aimed to exploit the natural and human resources available in the region whist sustaining and improving the environment for the benefit of the inhabitants. The organization has worked tirelessly to bring together the local communities with their expertise and experience and the development agencies with their resource to confront ignorance, diseases, poor livestock husbandry, environmental degradation and the resultant poverty and backwardness.
R.H.D-Kenya forms the basis for networking with other organization both at the Local and international level/ Donors/ Co-operate Bodies/ Philanthropists/ Volunteers/ Interns/ Researchers to create a resource centre and a forum for discussion; exchange ideas on problems affecting the marginalized, poor rural communities. While also Integrate the existing projects for improvement on proper healthcare and the living standards towards self-employment opportunities and initiate food self-sufficiency strategies and funding.
International Board of Governors
International Board of Governors: Experience, Qualifications and Competences:
• Be an international Citizen
• At least a good bachelor’s degree
• At least 2 years working experience in a related environment. Experience with working in an NGO will be an added advantage
• A good knowledge in (Project Management, Project Funding, Fundraising, Donor networking)
• Possess good writing skills.
• Effective communication in English and interpersonal skills
• Time management skills
Member Obligations, Roles and Responsibilities
• A Member must subscribe to the Vision, Mission and Values of R.H.D by forming network/ partnership with other Local and International NGOs, Donors and Project partners.
• A Member should participate and monitor the success of R.H.D programmes.
• A Member should regularly attend and participate in both International and stakeholders meeting
• A Member will abide by the NGO Quality Assurance Certification Mechanism and strive to achieve the NGO goals.
• A Member will remain in good standing by being proactive and prompting the organization on important issues it needs to engage with and continuously update the R.H.D changes in its Management.
