QPR is coming to Indonesia and Malaysia in July 2012
It is official and as expected English Premier League side QPR (Queens Park Ranger) is touring Asia. QPR will play friendlies against the Malaysian local football team in Sabah on 17th July and in Kuala Lumpur on 20th July as reported in a local online site a few days ago.
Next, QPR will play also against Indonesian local football team in Indonesia Surabaya on 23rd July as reported.
As quoted, “QPR chief executive Philip Beard said the team hoped the tour was “the first of many more opportunities”.
“This is a massive step for QPR to come and play in Asia… Everyone at the club is extremely excited by the tour, and we hope it allows as many of our fans as possible in Asia to watch the team in action,” he said.” – MSN Sports Malaysia
This is the third EPL team to play in Malaysia next month after Arsenal and EPL Champion Manchester City confirmed their participations.
We expected a third team to play in Malaysia as there were three teams playing too last year. There will be an excitement for the local tourism scene as thousands of football fans flock to Malaysia for their favourite teams last year. Hotels and shopping mall will expecting foreign tourists within the 10 days of football matches in between 20th to 30th July. We watched all the three matches last year but we are unsure whether we will be attending the three football matches this year. We shall wait and see.
