Famous Tampin Pork Satay at Asia Café Puchong

Famous Tampin Pork Satay at Asia Café Puchong

We never heard of Lim Satay House of Tampin. It’s not like we often visit Tampin anyways. Tampin is a small town in Malaysian state Negeri Sembilan next to state of Melaka. The last memory we had in Tampin was their “longkang” (drain) wantan noodle. It was a popular wantan noodle using clear sauces instead of dark sauces and it was named such was as the stall was located by the drain. After that, we didn’t travel to Tampin anymore or maybe we could stop by to hunt for the pork satay?

Instead of traveling south for the satay, this famous Tampin pork satay is available now in Puchong. It is located at the new Asia Café Puchong, a branch of the famous Subang Asia Café. Check out the map below for the exact location.

Rachel found the stall by luck last week when she had dinner there with her friends. Yesterday, we went there again for a revisit.

It is just a humble stall selling their pork satay, sesame chicken satay and also pork intestine satay. The pork satay priced at RM 0.80, sesame chicken satay at RM 0.70 and pork intestine satay at RM 0.80.

The combination of pork and sesame chicken satay. Yummy.

We ordered a mixture of pork and chicken satays and it was definitely a big no no to pork intestine satay. A glanced at our recent medical report, we in need to check our cholesterol level so we had to pass on the intestines.

Both the pork and chicken satays were tender and well marinated. It was nicely grilled and the portion of the satay was not too bad. Fifteen sticks of satays for three of us (including a friend) were not enough. Although the satay was good but the chili sauce was slightly disappointing. The “kuah” was slightly diluted and greasy to my liking. We didn’t order the ketupat as well.

Overall, the pork satay was good by itself and still worth a trip to visit for it. There are other stalls in Asia Café Puchong other than the pork satay. As the café is still new, there wasn’t that much crowd there. If you love pork satay, why don’t you head over and let us know your experience and comments? We would to hear from anyone about this place.

  1. Hi, Neat post. There’s a problem with your web site in internet explorer, would test this… IE still is the market leader and a huge portion of people will miss your great writing because of this problem.
