Well, there is a saying you won’t complete Sydney without visiting the Fish Market.  It is the second largest fish market in the world (in terms of varieties), no doubt Tsukiji of Tokyo is ranked number one.

My first time visiting the fish market was more than 10 years ago with Rachel and my cousin Sherry. The easiest way and the cheapest way to go to the fish market by using the Light Rail and you stop at Fish Market station. Talk a brisk walk (follow the signs) you will reach the market.

It is an actual working port, a seafood wholesale market, fresh seafood market and seafood restaurants. The difference between 10 years ago and now is there are many Chinese tourists now and they flooded at least half of the market. Why I am not surprised?

There were fresh seafood and cooked seafood available for dinning. Hence, there were many restaurants in the Sydney market too. My cousin recommended Christie’s which is located near the entrance.

I bought around 300 grams of salmon sashimi. It was definitely too much for myself but I enjoyed it. It was salmon sashimi overloaded.

Of course, there were lobsters, fish, shrimps, abalones, scallops, oysters and many more available in Sydney Fish Market. You can spend hours eating and shopping for your fresh seafood.

Expect to spend at least an hour or two, you name it for lunch or for dinner or for fresh seafood shopping. Since it is an actual port, enjoy the scenery while chowing the delicious seafood.
