There are many places of interest in Ranong province of Southern Thailand. It borders Myanmar and it is popular for its hot springs. Yes, there are many public and private hot springs in Ranong and you can find them in selected hotels and resorts too.

For the best landscape view of Ranong, you should go to Khao Fa Chi Viewpoint. The Fa Chi hill is located off Highway No. 4 in Tambon Bang Kaeo. It is named is such as its resemblance to a traditional Thai food cover.

The hill offers the breathtaking views of two rivers, the Kra Buri and the La-un. Thus, there are many river islands are naturally formed to create this fascinating scenery and sunsets are spectacular here.

Please take note that the road leading up to the hill is narrow and at the viewpoint, there are limited spaces of more than a few cars. If you are planning to go up to the viewpoint, my advice is to carpool or you will be having a tough time getting a parking on top of the hill.

Ranong is located at the north of Phang-nga and west of Surat Thani. To maximise your experience in Ranong, you should drive up and probably stay two nights on your way up. You can also take a boat to Myanmar if you wish or else enjoy the beauty of Ranong province of Thailand. Driving in Thailand is easy, fun and safe.
