Hatyai Park Lantern Festival 2014

For the past few years, Hatyai Park has been hosting the Lantern Festival. The Lantern Festival has become one of the top attractions for the locals as well as the tourists. They also change the design and also the lanterns annually so you won’t see the same thing every year.

The Lantern Festival is free and it is located in the Hatyai Municipal Park next to the Hatyai Ice Dorm. The Ice Dorm is another attraction you must visit but you have to pay a small fee for the entrance fee. Read more about the Ice Dorm at: Hat Yai Ice Dome Experience Thailand

If you staying at the city, visiting the Lantern Festival is simple, just take a “tuk-tuk” or a taxi but it will cost a bit as the distance from the city to the park is reasonably far. The best is to self drive as there are parking spaces available in the park.

Once you reach the park, you will see many people chilling around the park and taking pictures with the lanterns. I will not go details on how many lanterns are there but you can leisurely spend around one or more.
