If you think this year, there will be only one Premium Outlet opening in Malaysia, you are wrong! I wrote about Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA recently and there will be another premium outlet or premium village will be opening in September this year. However it is only opened a few days ago. Freeport A’ Famosa Outlet Village is located in Melaka just within an hour of brisk drive from Kuala Lumpur and probably less than three or four hour drive from Singapore. The outlet opened its doors yesterday and there are many people still not aware of this new outlet.
The first phase has the size of 180,000 sq ft with 100 retail units, 1200 car park spaces, food and beverages outlets, exhibition and event hall.
The outlet which has a gross development value of over RM190 million will feature international and local brands, including from Italy, England and China that will be sold at a discount ranging from 30% to 70%. This will definitely brings competition to JPO Premium Outlets as Singapore tourists love to travel to Melaka.
There are many shops with huge discounts up to 75%
So there will be two premium factory outlets opening in and near Klang Valley, Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA and Freeport A’ Famosa Outlet Village and that is not the end of the new premium factory outlets as there will be two more opening soon in Malaysia! Stay tuned.
