Hua Hin is a province and also a town in Thailand. It is one of the eight districts of Prachuap Khiri Khan Province located in between Bangkok and Chumphon. It is one of the popular tourist retreats in Thailand both for locals and foreigners.
Hua Hin is a coastal town with beautiful sandy beaches. It is only two hours away from Bangkok and it is locals’ favourite weekend getaway destination. Many will drive from Bangkok to Hua Hin to spend the weekend to get away from the traffic jam and the busy city life.
It has been a popular beach town for locals but in this couple of years, many tourist attractions were built to attract more tourists. I visited Hua Hin last year and I love the town.
The easiest way to travel to Hua Hin is via Bangkok. You can take go to Hua Hin from Bangkok via train, bus, minivan or self drive. It is only two hours of driving from Bangkok.
Hua Hin is located beside another town, Cha Am which is also another coastal town with tourist attractions.

1.Hua Hin Hills Vineyard
Developed since 2011, Hua Hin Hills Vineyard is over 560 acres in total area. It produces a variety of wines include Colombard, Chenin Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Muscat, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Shiraz, Sangiovese and Tempranillo. It is located 140-210 meters above sea level in Hua Hin hills.
The Hua Hin Hills Vineyard is located quite far from the town. You can either taking a day tour, rent a tour van or rent your own car. Driving from the town takes at least half an hour one way to the Hua Hin Hills Vineyard.
You can enjoy their tapas or set meals at Hua Hin Hills Vineyard. You can also walk around the vineyard and purchase their wines. Thus, there is a complimentary Jeep Tour at 1pm and 4pm and there also souvenirs available at the vineyard.

2.Hua Hin Railway Station
The Hua Hin Railway Station is one of the country’s most beautiful train stations marked by its meticulous details in architecture. Built in the reign of King Rama VI, the station features a Royal Waiting Room with Thai architectural style, a room which was relocated from Sanam Chan Palace in Nakhon Pathom province during the reign of King Rama VI.
The Hua Hin Railway Station is one of the most popular tourist attractions in Hua Hin. With its beautiful Thai architectural style, many tourists come here for photography.
There are also some of the old trains showcased outside of the station. The Hua Hin Railway Station is located in the town.

3.Hat Hua Hin / Hua Hin Beach
Hua Hin or Hua Hin Beach is located at the sunrise side of the city, is home to a 5 kilometer beach with white sands, bungalows, five-star hotels and resorts. The beach runs from a rocky headland and curves about three kilometers down south to Khao Takiap where the Giant Standing Buddha Sculpture is located.
The beach itself stays tranquil while still sprung with fun activities like horse riding, kite boarding and water sports.
Many locals will escape the city landscape to come to Hua Hin for the beach, sand and the sea. That’s why it is usually packed during weekends as the city goers enjoy their staycation in Hua Hin.

4.Khao Takiap
Khao Takiap is situated 4 kilometers South of Hua Hin reachable by local mini bus, a giant golden Buddha statue standing against a cliff is the landmark of Khao Takiab.
Visitors can catch a great bird’s eye view of Hua Hin, visit Wat Khao Takiap, a temple on top of the hill or head down to Khao Takiab Beach which mostly offers bungalow accommodations.

5.Namtok Pa La-u
This is for nature lover. Namtok Pa La-u or Pa La-u waterfall is an 11-tiered waterfall located in the verdant forest area of Kaeng Krachan National Park where various kinds of birds and butterflies are found. Some levels of the waterfall are reachable through trekking trails, of which visitors may be able to spot some wildlife animals and several species of rare birds along the way.
The best time to visit the fall is from November to April and to watch the butterflies from 7 A.M. to 10 A.M. The waterfall can be reached by local transport from Hua Hin for a distance of 63 kilometers.
This 11-tier scenic waterfall is located some 60 kilometres west of Hua Hin. You need a tour van or self drive to this waterfall.

6.Wat Huay Mongkol
This Buddhist temple is home to the world’s largest statue of Luang Phor Thuad, a legendary southern Thai monk revered for his enlightenment and ability to perform miracles. Many believe that the amulets created in his image guarantee safety in times of distress.
Many Buddhists will come to pray and also to look for the amulets. There are many devotees here and most of them are locals. You can easily spot the statue as it is huge. The best way to come here is via tour van or self drive as it is located at least 20 min off the town.

Plearnwan is a theme of unique brown wooden building features shopping complex, has two-storey courtyard-style building, an architectural statement in itself, houses a community of period-style shops selling everything from clothes, inexpensive plastic-and-tin toys, snacks as well as a beauty salon, photo studio, outdoor cinema screen and a mini ferris wheel.
It is located on the main road in Hua Hin town and it is hard to miss the beautiful wooden huge entrance. There are no entrance fees and the place is a beautiful vintage village with plenty to shop. There are individual boutiques as well as restaurants and food stalls in Plearnwan too.

Hua Hin Sam Phan Nam Floating Market is the biggest floating, covering an area of over 100 rai (16 hectares). The market’s architectural features take their inspiration from several historical sites in Hua Hin that were either built or renovated during the reign of King Rama VI (1910-1925), including the Mrigadayavan Palace and Hua Hin Railway Station.
