When we blogged about Sunway Velocity late last year, some of our friends told us that Glo Damansara Shopping Mall will be opening too. Since I never heard of Glo Damansara, I visited the mall on the last week of 2016. It is located at 699, Jalan Damansara, Taman Tun Dr Ismail and I couldn’t mind much information on this new mall.
It is a new shopping mall by developer Glomac with shoplots and condominiums. Before I drove into the mall, I saw a row of restaurants and pubs outside and also the signage of Ben’s Independent Grocer Supermarket is opened in Glo Damansara. I went to park on the top floors, many parking spaces left and took the lift down to ground and to check out what is available in the mall.
To my horror, almost 90% of the shops inside are empty! Since I drove all the way from KL to here, I never expected this so I took a video.
This is probably the first time I see a shopping mall opened to public with 90% of its shops empty. It doesn’t look good for potential tenants with the mall looking empty like this in our opinion.
I didn’t manage to visit the restaurants but some of my friends do visit the pubs here at night and they enjoyed it. Thus, I also did some of my grocery shopping in Ben’s Independent Grocer Supermarket.
Glo Damansara Shopping Mall is strategically located next to the LRT station and also walking distance to Tropicana City Mall. It caters to the local community and I heard that the parking charges for 2017 is three hours for RM 10 (as it is close with LRT station).
If you are planning to visit Glo Damansara Shopping Mall for shopping, oh well look at the video again. If for food, drinks and also Ben’s Independent Grocer Supermarket, that will be the wiser choice. For more info on this mall, visit their Facebook Page at https://www.facebook.com/GloDamansara/

Yes it it is completely empty, even the car park is eerie like a building site. I hadn’t actually even realised there are all those floors! But having said that I am not complaining: it is a great place to shop at Ben’s without the crowds: easy parking in front of the building and at least last time I went they still had free valet parking. Super convenient for those evident trips for special groceries for us on this side of the city!
