Remember we posted our first review on Khlong Hae Floating Market in Hatyai in 2014? We revisited the market a few weeks ago and things have improved a lot.  We will share our new experiences and tips on going to Khlong Hae Floating Market.

Khlong Hae Floating Market is located a bit far from the city. The journey will take around 20-25 minutes of driving from city center. Things have changed as we have Google Map and Waze now so it is easier to drive on our own.

This time, tuk-tuk overcharged us so we ordered Grab car as it is available in Hatyai now. There are not many drivers but you will manage to find a driver. The price for Grab from city to Khlong Hae Floating Market is around THB 100. For tuk-tuk, some charged us THB 200 per trip but it all depends on your bargaining skills.

Remember, the market is open from Fridays to Sundays from 3 pm to 9 pm (not till late). There are more boat stalls now and there are seating near the river and it is more organized.

You can find signs in English and Thai behind every boat so you don’t lost in translations. Most of the sellers here are Thai Muslims and most of them can speak simple Malay.

You can find many Muslims here as most of the food here is either HALAL or Muslim friendly. This is good place to visit in Hatyai for Muslim travelers.

There are many good local food here and it won’t cost you a bomb. The food prices here are very reasonable and food here is quite good in taste too.

On top of food, there are stalls selling clothes and souvenirs too and the prices are quite reasonable in our opinion.

Khlong Hae Floating Market is not similar to the other floating markets in Thailand. They are Muslim friendly, food oriented, open on weekends and the one and only in Southern Thailand. If you want something different to venture in Hatyai, you can visit Khlong Hae Floating Market.
