Pablo Cheese Tart Closed Down in IOI City Mall Putrajaya

Two years ago, we posted the story of Japan’s number one freshly baked cheese tart opening in Malaysia. Pablo Cheese Tart Japan opened its first outlet in One Utama Shopping Mall in late 2016. Pablo Cheese Tart opened its second outlet in IOI City Mall Putrajaya mid last year. Earlier this month, Pablo Cheese Tart closed its outlet in IOI City Mall Putrajaya after one year operating in the mall.

There are more than half a dozen bakeries selling Japanese baked cheese tarts in Malaysia. Two years ago, the hype was strong but now the demand is stagnant. There are at least three to four bakeries in IOI City Mall selling Japanese baked cheese tarts now. Competition is stiff and the consumers market is different than One Utama Shopping Mall.

We are frequent visitors to IOI City Mall and we noticed that the Pablo Cheese Tart outlet is usually quiet. When we noticed that the Pablo Cheese Tart store was unattended at the end of last month, we knew something was not right.

Early this month, the outlet is closed and they are renovating it for the next tenant.

Don’t worry, Pablo Cheese Tart is still opened in One Utama Shopping Mall. On another news, Harrods Café closed down all their outlets in Malaysia.
