Happy New Year everyone and time to start 2019 with the first story of the year. What is happening in 2019? The big good news is Singapore will remove motorcycle tolls at Tuas Second Link starting 21st January 2019.
Malaysia will remove motorcycle tolls starting today, 1st January 2019 at Tuas Second Link and Singapore will follow the move on their side. This is good news for Malaysians who work in Singapore and this will hopefully lessen the travel time and also their burden.
According to Channel News Asia, Singapore’s Ministry of Transport (MOT) said in a statement on Tuesday (Jan 1) addressing media queries on response on motorcycle tolls at the second link.
“We note Malaysia’s removal of motorcycle toll charges at the Second Link. Singapore’s long-standing policy is to match Malaysia’s toll rates.”
This is good news to start 2019 and we hope everyone will have an awesome year. We recently visited Singapore for the school holidays and plan to visit Singapore again this year in 2019.
