Hatyai Food Paradise 2019

Hatyai Food Paradise 2019 is the first food festival in the city of Hatyai. The Hatyai Food Paradise or food festival is to promote local popular food to the locals and tourists. Hatyai is one of the top destinations for Malaysians in Southern Thailand for decades. Last year, over 1 million Malaysians crossed border to visit southern cities in Thailand including Hatyai. Hatyai Food Paradise 2019 is happening from 4^th to 7^th April 2019, one week before the Songkran Festival.

The first time we visited Hatyai was almost 20 years ago. Over the years, we have seen the progresses made by this biggest city in Southern Thailand. New attractions, new malls and new night markets are some of the initiatives and development in Hatyai. We have written many travel tips about Hatyai and you can read it here.

Hatyai Food Paradise 2019 is the latest initiative to promote local food and tourism in Hatyai. This first food festival is held in the busy street in front of Lee Garden and Central Hatyai. The busy street is transformed to a food carnival with dozens of street food stalls.

Most of the food stalls are local food and the prices are very reasonable. The participation of the local food stalls means that you get to taste different types of local food during this Hatyai Food Paradise 2019.

We enjoyed the street food available at Hatyai Food Paradise 2019. There were thousands of locals and tourists participated in this food festival. Songkhla governor, Mr. Weeranun Pengchan attended and officialised the food festival.

We loved the food and the concept of Hatyai Food Paradise and we hope that they will make it to an annual event. Thus, we hope that more tables can be set up for dinners to eat during this food festival. Thank you Tourism Authority of Thailand Malaysia for inviting us to join the Hatyai Food Festival 2019.
