restoran 9888 cheras

The last time we blogged about this restaurant is 10 years ago. Restoran 9888 Fatt Kee Cheras has been around for more than 10 years and we do eat there from time to time. This is a popular Chinese restaurant and it is usually packed during dinner time.

The location of the restaurant is quite complicated. It is located at 111-117G, Jalan Cerapu Satu, Off Jalan Cheras and parking can be a challenge. If you read the reviews online, the usual complaint is the long waiting time and it is still like that. Yes, you have to wait for your food.

The restaurant is air conditioned and usually crowded and it can be noisy. We ordered some of their signature food as recommended by them.

restoran 9888 cheras fried vegetables

The ‘vegetables cooked in two styles’? We forgotten the actual word for this dish as you can see the vegetable is deep fried on the top layer while the bottom layer of the vegetables comes with the Cantonese style sauce. This top layer vegetables are deep fried to perfection, it is crispy while the bottom layer of the vegetables are sunk with the ‘Cantonese style’ sauce.

restoran 9888 cheras hot plate tofu

The hot plate tofu with egg is a dish for our kids. It comes with minced pork meat and this is tasty and complements well with the rice. The kids will usually love this.

restoran 9888 cheras fried intestines

Stir fried pork intestines. My mom loves pork intestines (god knows why) and she will order one whenever we eat together. This version of pork intestines are flavourful and tasty with hints of the garlic after taste.

restoran 9888 cheras salted egg prawns

Deep Fried Prawns with Salted Egg. We are not going to lie, we loved this. Prawns of XL size deep fried to perfection, the crispy outer layer coated with salted egg and you can really bite the texture of this. For salted egg lovers, this is a must order.

restoran 9888 cheras crispy butter fish

Crispy fried fish with butter flakes. This is one of their signature dishes, the ‘dry butter fish’. The fish are cut into pieces and deep fried to crispiness. The flakes are made from butter, eggs and sugar. If you like this version of butter fish or deep fried fish, this is another must order.

If you look at the food we ordered, we realized that we ordered too many fried food. We should have ordered other types of dishes instead of so many deep fried dishes. Overall, the food here is good and it didn’t disappoint us. However the waiting time is long and finding a parking here can be a struggle. The food prices here are reasonable. Please call to book a table if you plan to visit during weekends.
