You probably heard of the famous Pratunam Soi 19 wanton noodles. It is called SabX2 Wanton Noodles and there are queues from morning until it is sold out daily. The Sabx2 wanton mee restaurant is located along soi Phetchaburi 19, the road opposite Platinum Shopping Mall in Pratunam Bangkok.

This Sabx2 Wanton Noodles is very popular with tourists together with the Pratunam Chicken Rice. The queue usually starts in the morning and there will be lesser people after lunch.

They offer two main dishes at Sabx2 Restaurant, the wanton noodles and pork trotter rice. Each portion is priced at 100 THB, one size fits all. If you feel the portion is small, you have to order another one.

Like everyone else, we queued up for our table at Sabx2 Restaurant and we were lucky as it took us less than 10 minutes to get our seats. The early birds get the tables and the restaurant is airconditioned.

There are many notices stating that there is no second outlet or branch especially in Singapore. There could be a copycat in Singapore with the same name (trying to use their fame).

We ordered their famous wanton noodle and it comes with char siew, pork lard, wanton, vegetables and crab meat. It looks dry in the picture but after you mix with the sauce, it is okay.

The texture of the noodles is springy and you get the crunchy texture of the pork lards. The taste is of the combination is good but don’t expect strong flavours like the Kuala Lumpur’s type of wanton noodle. We enjoyed the small bits of fresh crabs, something different than the wanton noodles in Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong.

The braised pork trotter rice with egg is the other food we ordered. The braised pork trotter rice also comes with vegetables and egg. If everyone thinks the wanton noodle is good, the braised pork trotter rice is on another level. The pork is soft in texture and it feel like melt in the mouth. The pork rice is flavourful and this is delicious.

Is Sabx2 Wanton Noodles Pratunam Bangkok Worth It? To be honest we enjoyed the wanton noodles even though it is expensive but we feel that the taste of the braised pork trotter rice is better. We read many reviews on the wanton noodles but many of them missed the braised pork trotter rice. Well, some argued 100 THB is expensive for a bowl of wanton noodle but that is the price you pay for famous and touristy food. Trust us, we paid more for other popular street food in Bangkok.

If you never been to Sabx2 Wanton Noodles, come early beat the queue and order the noodles and the braised pork trotter rice. Let us know which is better. They open from 9 am to 3pm.
