Bali to Ban Sex for unmarried couples including tourists

bali ban sex

You are reading this right and Bali is going to ban sex for unmarried couples including tourists according to Australia media reports today.

Indonesia is set to pass new laws making consensual sex between unmarried adults a crime and also making it illegal for unmarried couples to live together. This applies to Bali and the whole Indonesia.

The ban on extramarital sex will be introduced under amendments to the country’s criminal code that appear set to pass within the week according to Australia newspapers portals.

This means that Bali tourists could be soon be jailed for six months for having pre-marital sex or consensual sex if they are not married.

This means if you are planning to visit Bali with your boyfriend or girlfriend, you could be jailed for six months if you get caught having sex. Same goes for those looking for flings and one night stand in Bali.

The ban is not happening yet until the new law is passed by Indonesia. If this really happens, Bali might not be the perfect destination for couples in the future. In fact, it is not just Bali but the entire Indonesia including places like Lombok, Jakarta, Bintan, Batam and other popular tourist destinations.

It is unsure the new law will affect the Indonesian tourism. We will just have to wait and see if this new law will be passed by Indonesia. Will update more next week.
